What is the main difference between the mugen x12 and novarossi NS12S3A1 engines? Since mugen is now the sole distributor of novarossi engines, i was wondering if the mugen x12 is just a restamped version of NS12S3A1.

Both motors have the same stats just the Mugen is cheaper. I can't wait to run mine this weekend whooot !!

Actually the Novarossi NS12S3A1 is listed at my LHS for about $240 and the Mugen X12 (long stroke) goes for a little over 3 bills.

Being a long stroke engine the power is more geared towards the lower end of the powerband where most racers are tapping the resources of their engines (on the technical or semi-technical tracks).

Sl0eg1n and I are both sponsored by the same LHS and I have the Novarossi he was asking about while he has the Mugen X12. Both are new and are in the process of being broken in. We'll keep you posted as to how the engines differ on the track.

I am just about done breaking in my x12 and i love it. I can't say one negative thing about it.

I ran with my uncle's Navorossi 3 port turbo all day long. I can't wait to get it to the track.

.

Yea thats what i ment lol.

it took me close to 1 gallon to break in the mugen x12. i have had some problems with the run time on a 75cc tank. i temporarily solved it with 15 inches of fuel line and a inline fuel filter. i am going to eventually retune the low speed needle because i noticed that it is extremely rich on the low end. all things aside, i am extremely satisfied with the mugen x12. it's extremely fast and the power band matches my driving style.
