i called mugen for the stock needle settings for the x12 and was told 5.5 hsn and 4.5 lsn. for those that have this engine, what settings do you run the engine at. i am still breaking it in and can barely reach 150 degrees.

I just brought one too. I completed the runnin last week.

Before start :
Low speed needle = All the way in & 4 turns out.
High speed needle = All the way in & 6 turns out.

1. Idel it for 2 tanks. If the engine want to die just turn the idel needle up.
2. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 25% of throttle for 3rd tank.
3. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 25% of throttle for 4th tank.
4. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 50% of throttle for 5th tank.
5. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 50% of throttle for 6th tank.
6. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 75% of throttle for 7th tank.
7. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 75% of throttle for 8th tank.
8. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 100% of throttle for 9th tank.
9. Screw in the LSN & HSN about 1/8 ands drive about 100% of throttle for 10th tank.

Done.

Is your one standard button or turbo button? I changed my to torbo button.

sl0eg1n and I have the same engine. We worked out the break-in probs during the first break-in process and thought it was a fluke (temps). Turns out that when I broke my engine in, it was the same. The temps stayed down till fully broken in.

We did some researched and found out that it has a turbo crank in there to facilitate the longer stroke. When you changed your button to a turbo, what were your findings? More throttle response? Increased snappiness of the engine? Let us know since there are a couple of people here that have the same engine.

Hey guys, been looking all over for this info....

I bought this motor used and the previous owner made a major boo-boo :hammer: , he messed with the middle needle, can one of you guys provide the base settings for this needle?

Thanks,
John

Thank you for the quick response....Hopefully can get the motor back to baseline and then tune from there...

How rich of a starting setup are those settings?

Those are the factory settings for break-in. Sl0eg1n and I ran the same engine's in our serpents.

those are not the factory break-in settings. those are the baseline needle settings for running the engine after break-in.

I think the turbo crank and plug are over rated You can bring in much more power by opening up the tube in the crank and grinding out some timing BUT you have to know what you are doing this would be concedered advanced engine mods I did some tests on my engine dyno and found a little difference in power with the turbo crank and to tell you the truth I think the gain is from the crank being lighter because of the turbo grind which will give you a tiny bit more on the top end
