Just got all the stuff I need to get running again. Got the new Titanium chassis from Hardcore for my Storm (LHS had a 35% off sale on all HC stuff), got the front/rear Mugen MBX shocks with the Mugen 15.5T (front) and 18.5T (rear) light blue springs. K, 'nuff drooling, sorry. Here's the question. Do I run the dust boot down and over the ball end or let it rest just above the ball end ? The spring cup fits a little loose without the dust boot securely over the ball end. So, is it on or off?

The top of the dust boot slips over the bottom edge of the shock cylinder. There should be a little lip for it to go over. The other end just rests on the top of the bottom spring retainer. It might fit over the rod end a little, but the bottom spring retainer would be extremely tight on it leading to greater chance for rippage. It does just fine resting on the bottom end.

Sky to the rescue. I have been sitting here waiting to complete the assembly, hitting the refresh button on my browser waiting for a reply. Thanks for the answer. I'm stress testing this new Ti chassis by banging it on my head (considering all the money I now have in my RTR, I could have gotten the kit and did it right the first time). Oh well, either way when I'm done I will just about have a race ready ride (might need something other than the RB engine), but it'll do.

No problemo. I have Mugen shocks on my Savage, and went down the same dustboot question road you just went down.
