guys need help my MT2 seems to have good mesh the gears are connecting nicly it LOOKS to be but you know how that goes it can look good but its horrible.... but when i roll the truck backwards the 2 speed moves u hear a click that the gears connected and after that its REALLY silent but the gears are still moving toghter does that mean perfect mesh!? :argue: cause id hate to have to get the 2 speed gears again!!! :puke: it makes me sick when i burn gears out

Mesh has to do with the backlas of the pinion and spur gear. If you feed a peice of paper through and work it out ... inspect it. If there are no tears, you got a good mesh. If there are holes, it's too tight. Back off the engine till it makes the indentations without making perforations. If it's too loose, you'll be able to tell by just looking at it. The gears will have play in them and feel very loose.

After a while of doing this time and time again, you'll get a feel for it. I don't even use the paper trick anymore. I learned how it's suposed to feel. So far, so good ... haven't stripped any spurs through out the whole racing season and post season runs.
