Motorsaver filter foam kinks inside the basket

I have Motorsaver filters on both my MT and my Touring car. The filter foam is taller than the screened filter basket it sits in and whenever I try to reassemble the unit after cleaning I always end up bending the filter element inside the basket. I can never get the foam to crush evenly, it always seems to kink under the cover.

When the filters were brand new I never noticed any kinking in either filter. The foam kinks after I put it back together. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes it happend to me.
when you first clean it u stretch it out a bit and that is how u get the kink it doesn't hurt anything.

Yup Tarant is correct. After washing it it will strech out due to the lack of oil in it. Apply your oil and just stick it back in. No problem with performance with the kink as you say.

With the kink it does not appear to go all the way to the sides of the screened basket as it did when brand new.

yeah i just noticed this too when i started cleaning it it al the sudden started to get a kind idk o well, guess i should just buy another element.

if you go out and buy one every time it gets kinked u will be buying one every time you clean your filter. Try putting a outer foam on it that way you dont have to clean it as much.

I have used my inner element for quite sometime now.The one on my Picco 26 has over 1 1/2 gallons on it and I have used it now on my Savage. Its fine for me. So long as the screen isn't coming off.

I love my MS air filter. it was wierd one time me and a few friends were playing Ballon and I got nailed or tacked really good and that little screen piece that u push to open it and take out the inner foam popped off and it has only happend once didnt break anything lol

My Savage MS has over 4 gallons on it with the Kink. I just put a new one on my Touring car and I was a surprised to see it also kink like my Savage filter.
