well in 1:1 Rigs it can be seen as the same. but in rc engines refers to nitro and motors refer to electrics

Sorry, but they are not the same, and especially in 1:1 rigs. Motor referrers to anything electrical (as in electric motors like a starter). Anything that runs on a type of fuel is an engine.
