i am looking to buy a new motor for a savage 25 in the future. what is the best motor? and the price?

So many to choose from. If you are a decent to good tuner then the Collari 30 is an option. Then there are the favorites, Wasp 26 or 28, Picco 26 Sirio 27, Fantom 27, there will be a Sirio 30 as well coming but not released.

Bigger is not always better. If you can't tune then try something more user friendly. Hone in your tuning skills prior to jumping to a beast like the collari.

is the truckzilla conversion kit good?
thanks jon2 you always have answers to my questions:marshall:

Well from what I hear and read , NO. No expereince. Kwong2001 had that kit , not sure if he still does but he had a problem with the Customer service and the engine..more than twice I think.

It looks cool but I would shop around. It is just longer TVP's and a 46 engine. I am sure you can get some better long TVP's and a smaller engine but one that will eat that 46 up.

Do some research on it Bro. No need to dump cash on a whim.

As far as a motor for a savage i think you need a conversion kit.
Just had to do it sooo many people post "motor".
As far as an engine i myself just picked up a collari. The wasp .32 is also coming out but that wont be for a long while i think.

Just curious as to why you say he would need a conversion kit?The Savage is capable of putting in a Collari 30. Maybe a dremel to the TVP's is neccessary but nothing drastic like a conversion. What did you do for the collari?

The wasp is a good strong "ENGINE" but the collari is not that hard to tune. I put one in my Savage with no modification. just dropped it in, broke it in, and started breaking parts....mmmm.....I mean running it. So much power you have to upgrade your drive axles, gears, anything that has to handle the power. BEST BUY for the money I think $209

JUst like the Tmaxx. Drive train and such should be strengthen with the added power!!

so with the new motor i get i need to get new axels and stuff?

Not neccessarily. I would recommend getting CVDs but the Doggy bones should be fine. Just make sure you get at least the dual disc brake upgrade and some other mods that can be found here on the forum.

stock axles and center drives will hold up to almost anything out there except the collari so if you get the wasp you shoudl be fine. I have some stock dogbones and center drives for the savage if you break any.

Just to add to that, their customer service is okay, I think it's somewhat gone downhill, which is mostly attributed to crappy products IMO.

First time I had to claim the engine under warranty, aside from calling about 10 times of getting an answering machine, I had no problems talking to a person. As a matter of fact, once they received it, I called them on 3 different occasions with about a two day interval or so to see if the new engine was shipped back to me. If I remember, their turn around was about 2 weeks.

Second time I had to claim the engine under warranty, I could not get a person on the line and HAD to leave a message. After a month of waiting for a return phone call, I called back again and talked to the operator who obviously wasn't the right person. (there was probably a technical error somewhere, that's why they might have never got the message) Told her my issues with customer service and she relayed the message to the right people. Got all the information I needed to send it in and the turn around went pretty fast...relatively. From the time I shipped it via UPS ground, to the time I received the replacement engine, it was about 3 weeks, which isn't bad.

One thing to note, if you have to claim it, you need an RNA number (i think that's what it's called) written on the outside of the box you ship the engine in, or they won't accept the package. I have a feeling this was done to lighten the warranty claims they have to go through. So i'd imagine A LOT of people are making warranty claims, and the procedures you have to go through to talk to a real person reflect that.

For my personal preferences, I don't like dealing with companies that have bad customer service. If it's a pain in the ass to get in contact with someone, I just don't do business with them. I'd rather pay a higher price, or get a slightly worse product, then dealing with a disorganized or flaky company.
