Just a quick(Maybe dumb sounding to many) question.

Is it some how possible to get a normal RC set up(Normal pistil grip radio receiver and some servos) to run by being powered off of a motor cycle battery such as: http://www.batterymart.com/p-6n4b-2a-dry-charged-motorcycle-battery.html
I'm not worried about it fitting or even being logical but I am very curios as to weather or not it would work.

I know its a pretty dumb question but hey, that's what I do..

Thanks for your help!

It would work but you would have a lower starting voltage, a larger/heavier battery, and long charge times.

that battery is 6v. most receiver packs are 6v, the sticks are 7.2v so that end would work. the TX may be under powered a little though.

I dont know about the receiver end but you can use a car battery for the rest if you like. I've seen everything from bike to forklift batteries used for Rc boats. And no not my boats I use 6v in my boats there not big enough for the heavier ones.

Thanks for the response everyone!

I'm Confused by what you mean by lower starting voltage, can you explain?

6 cell stick packs are 7.2 volts, so the initial battery voltage is lower.

reciever packs are 6v and the 4 AA holders are like 4.8. the servos would be weaker then on a stick pack but would work.

I'm wondering what you have planned :D

My fault, I misread the OPs original question. I thought he was talking about running a motor off a 6V battery.
