whats going on. i have a revo 3.3 that has a blown motor and bad carb. my spare motor witch is a 2.5r motor has a bad carb as well. what are my best options.......buying a new carb for the 2.5 and running that......trying to see if the motor is worth saving..... need ideas....is there anything bigger in the same price rang as a new 3.3 motor would be...thanks

Traxxas offers a trade up program for their nitro engines for a nominal fee. All that they need is the old motor without accessories.

Try this link: http://traxxas.com/v2/powerup/

SELECT: the model or part you want to Power-Up!
CHOOSE: your Power-Up and any additional parts!
CHECKOUT: using this site!
CONFIRM: your Power-Up!
SEND: the Power-Up form and your original Traxxas engine, power system, or radio system to Traxxas. You’ll need to keep some parts such as exhaust headers, starters, and pinion gears. (All the details will be explained after you select your Power Up items)
NOTE: The Traxxas Power-Up program is only for U.S. customers.

It doesn't matter where the engine came from, you can trade in any engine for an equal or higher performance engine. You can trade that 2.5r for another 2.5r for $85 or trade up to a 3.3 for $110.

Another option "if your confident enough to do so" would be to just rebuild the 3.3 mill yourself. This is a much cheaper option and is a great learning experience.

Most any hobby shop that carries Traxxas products participates in this program.

yeah i saw the power up on the traxxas site.... i dont see it being a gain when i can buy a motor on ebay for the same if not cheaper...... i like the 3.3 just trying to see if there is anything with more power in the same rang as it...

well i took apart my 3.3 motor and found that the connectiing rod and piston are both toast.... am i better off buying a new engine.. i found the rod and piston on ebay for 65 bucks......is there anything better and cheaper than that out there
