I have a question. I was just running through some puddles today and suddenly my truck dosnt respond correctly. So i take the body off and there was water in those wire connectors that connects the esc to the motors. I have a 3905 e-maxx and I'm not sure what to do? Should i let it air dry or is there another way to fix this?

I think some might have gotten into the esc to. UGGGGGG! Is that covered under warrenty cause I'm using the stock evx-2
Every thing is stock and is it hard to put those esc-motor connectors back together after you pull them apart?

the ones I've seen were bullet type connections. they are easy to take apart and put back on.
i thought the new evx's were water proof.. maybe not. but yea let it all dry out really well. you may have to take the esc apart and clean it with denatured alcohol.

well I've left it for like an hour now. I know its not dry cause things dont dry that fast...but every time i turn it on now the led is red and stays that way. I dont know why but i can't turn it off unless i unplug the batteries...so I'm stumped.

It sure sounds like your switch and/or your receiver got wet. You need to open it up and make sure you blow any moisture out of it before it becomes a permanent problem.

:angry:Man now thats really REALLY! fregin messed up. It claims its water proof, drive it through water, its screwed...What a hoax...
Anyway...how do i open up the esc and/or reciever cause I've never done this before?

The switch?
What is this switch you talk about?
Do you mean the button you turn it on and off with?
The led button?

I'm referring to the slide switch that most of these use. I'll move this thread to the Maxx Forum will it might get the attention it needs.

well I'm still not sure about what your talking about because i dont see a switch. Um...I'm using the evx-2. But anyway it seems to be working fine now...but I'm scared to run it...I'm not sure if its going to blow up in my face are anything of the sort. Is there anything i should know before i run this again?

Sorry, I guess that one doesn't have a slide switch. Apparently the water that was causing the problem has dried out. I'd still recommend opening ALL the electrical connections and blowing them out, then letting them sit open overnight.
Seriously consider getting a fail safe.

is it hard to put those esc motor connections back together because I've never done it before and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get it back in with out damaging it?

They come apart, they go back together. There are several different types. Just use caution when doing anything for the first time. It's all part of the learning process.

iye...now i feel nervous
should i take a picture of it for reference when putting it back together or just make it so that it fits.

the motor connectors should be just bullet connections. just make sure you put black to black and red to red. they just snap together.

Take lots of pics, and if you have problems the members here can help you. For future reference, you really made a mistake by turning the truck on while it was still wet. It doesn't have time to dry out in an hour. Your ESC is waterproof. If it wouldn't have been, it would have fried it when you powered up the system and it was still wet. I know because I've fried stuff exactly like that. My guess would be that your receiver might have gotten wet. You need to check that because it's not waterproof. I would worry more about the receiver than the ESC. Yes, that ESC will be covered under warranty, but any other ESC wont be. For future reference, check out the how to section and waterproof your receiver.

well i dont really dont know why but now it works...like i did what rolex said and now it works fine...i drove it for like 7 minutes in the garage and there were now problems..so.......
maybe it was a fluke...

No doubt you were dealing with some moisture problems and it had a chance to dry out. If you want to avoid these problems in the future, get some 'contact grease' from Radio Shack and use it on all the connections. You should also consider ballooning your receiver.

Well ill try that when ever i can get to a fregin radio shack
But thx to everyone who helped out...i am very thankfull
