I don't modify engines that have a history of issues and the 8.0 is one of them. The engine was designed for aircraft, it was never meant to be a MT engine and simply couldn't handle the extra HP and RPM I would give it, it's just not a good investment for the customer imo. I am working with a guy to see how much it wakes up with one of my pipes, at least then if the engine was to fail, you could take your investment and use it on the next engine you put in the truck, instead of throwing the mod in the trash along with the engine.
I'm not bashing the 8.0 but I would rather be honest and lose a sale, then to make a few bucks and have an angry customer![]()
fair enough, I new about the engine being an aircraft engine. But I wasn't made aware of any issues with its durability. I haven't read many if any posts with customers having issues with the motor. I've read quite a few in regards to the transmissions on the MGT 8.0. Personally I like the engine, with what experience I have had with it. It seems strong, it just lacks high end speed. I'm assuming because of the low RPMS. But 1/8 scale MTs where not made for purpose of speed.
Thank you for your expert input I appreciate it.
