Hey,

Has any one bought the JR PROPO XS3 FM radio with the RS300 receiver?

I've found the JR XS3 for around $250. I found the JR PROPO XS3 for $140.

Anyone know the diff? The specs seem the same. Aside from different graphics on the transmitter, they look the same as well.

Here's a link for the JR PROPO:

Here's a link for the normal JR:

Any advice will be appreciated.

Well, first off, Horizon Hobby is a bit more expensive than anyone else... You can buy the JR XS3 75mhz for $239. I would stick with the 75mhz version. I'm not sure of the difference between the JR Propo & the JR is though...

I am also unsure of the difference between the JR Propo and the JR. As ImBroken already mentioned make sure you go with the 75mhz version of the XS3. That way you have 30 channels to switch between.

I paid $240 for my JR XS3 about a month ago at my LHS. It looks very similar to the JR Propo, but not exact match. Interesting. Specs look similar. I would carefully investigate this as you rarely save that much money without sacrificing something.

JR Propo

The listing for the JR Propo XS3 Tx is in Hong Kong and the two available frequencies are 27mhz and 40mhz. 27mhz and 75mhz are the two surface frequencies supported in the States.

Stick with the 75mhz JR XS3 as stated above. Also check around on eBay, there are still a few deals to be had and brand new they're going for cheaper than $239 - typically 'around' $200 shipped.

You know those prices make it awfully tempting to pick one of those up. I have thought about it and thought about it and so on and let me tell you I just can't bring myself to do it. Something just doesn't sit right with me about it. Something about buying from Hong Kong man.

LOl bro, "Something about Buying from Hong Kong", haha. It's not a third world country man. I've been their twice on buisness. Do you know how much phucking money is in parts of Hong Kong and Asia in general?? Do you know how much chit in your house is possibly from that area? As long as the site has good feedback from other RC people, I wouldn't worry about Buying from Hong kong specifically but more a possible scam sit from anywhere in the world.

I would love to know the exact differences. I've been spending an ASSLOAD of money on my T-maxx projects and that looks very tempting for the price. It appears that it just can't run as many channels on those frequency (could be wrong) options compared to the other 70mhz FM version??

I really want a radio that will do "Anti Lock breaking" and apprently Futaba is coming out with some that are going to be relatively inexpensive. We'll c.

That "Pro" model is very tempting for the price.

Peace

30%, I meant no disrespect to Hong Kong or anyone from there. I was actually just talking about purchasing from a hobby store is all. Just for the radio in particular honestly. I couldn't help but think that on their frequency's that it wouldn't mess up something around the house or some crap like that. That's all I mean. I too have been tempted to get myself one of those. I think the Futaba that you speak of is the 3PM-FS. I have been looking at that thing and so want to get it since all of my stuff is already futaba. It just isn't coming out for a while is my problem.

I have 2 JRXS regular(NON-PROPO) 75MHZ radios. I just picked up an extra one up on a savage deal I made. I want to sell one but it doesn't include the receiver. Only the radio and the JR servos and switches and stuff. I think you can get a new receiver for $60 plus shipping.
