I took the Savage to Hobbytown yesterday to show to a friend who works there. Way more than I expected. Cell phone cameras came out and it collected a crowd. I guess I must have done something right with the alloy and yellow.

After a few people picked it up and estimated its' weight at 20 lbs, I bought the 3 speed trans kit for it. I already have the reverse module, and now I'm setting up for a major tear down to do the trans conversion.

Yeah, BUST ME, Lessen, I'm still stalling. lol

Is it just me or is some one stalling.......:stick:
Post Pictures of the conversion and build up.

Maybe if they made an aluminum fuel bottle you might consider actually putting fuel IN the truck....

lmao off candyman. Rolex, I'm glad to see that you got such good attention at the shop, but I'm not one bit surprised. I think the 3 speed is going to be my next mod on the Savvy.

lmao Candyman. Rolex, I'm glad to see that the truck was so well received at the shop, but I must say I'm not a bit surprised. If I was you, I don't think I could ever bring myself to getting that thing dirty after all that work and all those parts. How much does the Savage way stock?

I think they took the pictures so they could prove to people that they saw the worlds only clean savage.

It's like Bigfoot... It's seen by few, believed in by many.

At least you're doing the 3 speed/reverse install at the same time. Both kits require the trans to be completely removed to install them.

Don't forget that you'll need a 3rd servo. Just a plain jane standard servo will do the job.

Well, I just had a FREAKIN' BLAST tearing up snow banks and doing power slides, and just throwin snow all over the place in general with my Maxx. It's the first time I've run it in a looong time and man I'm still grinnin from ear to ear.

glad to hear the truck is coming along. :D

while you two are at it, Rolex could just delete the Savage from his collection and put it in yours... at least that way it'll get ran.

I wonder if would be willing to trade a savage for a brand new baja 5b.

Oh yea Josh, Congats on getting some fuel running through your blood again. I know you love your electrics, but for some reason battereis just don't give me a headache and make my eyes water like batteries, unless of course you're talking about a lipo explosion, but you catch my drift (like the amg you built)

Ya know, I'm not so much of an electric fan as it is just conveniant I guess. I love the sound and smell of a nitro engine. I also enjoy the challenge of getting them to run correctly. I've had nitro for 4 years but I still feel like a rookie when it comes to tuning these things. I DID have a blast today even though it was only about 1 tank. Good stuff!

oh yeah,it would also be nice if that AMG WOULD DRIFT. I got that finished so late in the season last summer that I didn't get much street time with it. I know it would be a cakewalk if I would just succomb to putting on drift tires but there's much less challenge in that.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, just keep busting 'em.

I guess I got to do a kit after all. This is a MAJOR tear down.
Other than this, I think I've already had every other part on the truck off, already.
Naturally I'm taking this a couple of steps farther than I need to, but when it's done, all I have to do is find that polished aluminum fuel bottle.

How sad would it be if you say someone showing off your Savage saying it was theirs? Haha !

Can't wait to see your Savage actually run. It will, right? Make sure you take a video.

Ha! That's frickenfunny!

I don't think it's funny. frickenjoey is the only one here who truly appreciates a classic work of art. Kudos, Joe-WEE.
Other than the trans re-build, the main reason for the total teardown was to remove any road dust or pollen that might have gotten in the car window on the way to Hobbytown.

Naturally, you won't see anything different with the 3 speed and reverse conversion, but I couldn't tear into it without 'Blinging it on."
NO, you'll have to wait.
