it will be good if i ever get it done. the plate that the ring gear bolts to had the wrong size bolt holes, they look like 2 mm. the stock bolts are 2.5 mm. sooooo drill and tap, but dont have it put together yet. most likely later today

what happened was rc planet shows two spools, BUT doesn't say which one is for new t-max and old t-maxx. i just drilled and taped for 2.5 mm. now iam having trouble with the drive shafts, can't get the small threaded pin in, that holds u-joint to out put shaft. i guess out comes the drammel tool.

WARNING!!! integys spool will NOT work on a t-maxx 4908. but rc planet has NOTHING that tells you which spool you are buying, they have two. and rc planet does NOT list any integy part number.

iam NOT able to use the spool at all. i just cleaned all the gears in the diff, and stuffed it full of J B weld, now i have to waite 24 hrs to see if it will work.

i have only been on this site since july, and have not yet done a rant, so this is my first rant. its been my experance that to many after market copanys just dont know how to make replacement parts. and some of co that sell stuff dont know how to list parts right. rc planet lists two spools , integy brand, but did a treable job of listing which truck it fits, i mean they only listed that it fits a t-maxx, but didnt list which t-maxx. there are three diff t-maxxs. i think ll stop buying after market parts. i trhink ill buy ONLY traxxas parts at least they get the part number right.

must be nice to have full machine shop. all iv got is a cheep not made in U.S.A drill press. i have to wait till 2:00 pm mon be fore i can put it back together. a dude told me that the slow setting up b-j weld is stronger. i took the front driveshaft out to get more power to the rear wheels. i have had trouble with the 3mm counter sunk screws, it has a 2mm socket, and it strips out to much, so i change them over to 2.5 socket. man here wev got this good weather and my truck is down. i have a number of projects going on, if i dont get with it i wont get them done till dec.

well i got a email from tom at rc planet, he said that integy does a bad job of giving good info on part numbers. both are on my $t list. i told him i will NOT be buying parts on the internet any more.

well its all put together just finished it, 5:00 pm wed. may not get to run it tonite , for sure in the morning.

well the thing is there are at lest 3 diff t-maxxs and one of the differances is the the length of shafts comming out of the sides of the dif houseing. so any time you buy parts double check to see you DO have the right part.

got killer out on the parking lot. ran a tank of 40%, hard to tune, the spur gear is a 72 tooth, and removed the front driveshaft, to get more power to the rear, this kept the speed in low gear so low it wouldnt go into high gear, but the engine DID reach top rpm, didnt seem to harm it. i took one shock off each front. this lowered the front so much it wouldnt do a wheelie, but it would travel the full amount upon wot. still not sure about tune. then ran 2 tanks of 0% nitro, 14% oil. about the same amount of power. had to tune idle more, took a while. the locked dif worked very well, the turning dia didnt seem to be less, did a few donuts in the dirt, it acted like it should. seemes that its performance was limited cause of the low tire speed.

You can adjust the shift points in the tranny to make it shift sooner.

shift points

ya i know the shift points can be adjusted. i just havent decieded what i want to do. if i changed it i could put it back i guess. man you should have heard that little engine screeming, i know it must have been maxed out.
