Well it happend again. I'm getting frustrated with this problem. I dont know what type of rims to try next. I used the pro line last now I guess I will try Hot Bodys rims. I'm considering trying a set of Big Joes. But will they strip out too? And will I have to get a heavy duty servo for the 40's wide tires? I am reluctant to put out the @150.00 for alum. rims. Has anyone had this problem as many times as me? The LHS says to loosen my slipper hub more but I dont want to. I like the power for poping up the front. Thanks

the big joes will strip out also i had one spin about 1/6'' on the hub.i caught it before it got to bad.what i'm trying now is the jb weld on the hub with hbp's it works ok so far .also i have the hb hubs there working good with the big joes but both need more time.you do not have to get a hd servo with the bj's but it would help.

I bought a new set of HB rims today. I will give them a try, thinking of adding washers under the lug nuts for even strength. I saw a set of alum rims on e bay for 70 bucks or 89 bucks direct from the dealer. I wonder how the tires will stay glued to the alum rims? They are not the bead lock type

How are you stripping out so many rims??? I mean I put my trucks through hell and back and have 1 rim out of 20+/- I have laying around the house that is stripped.

Oh yeah, it was the stock savage rim to be exact.

DONT KNOW HOW

I can't fighre it out either. too much torqe to the rims. Believe me I keep the lugs real tight ans use thread lock. Today I put small washers under the lugs and got them real tight. I'll let you guys know how they hold up. My next move will be alum rims

I'm with you on the rims, they SUCK !! After the stock rims whent to hell I bought some RPM rims and I'm not thrilled with them ethier, but not done trying a few things. But if or when they go bad I'm going to get alum. I'm looking at team associated hex eliminator . Has anyone tryed these yet ? Let me know if you get alum. and how they work . Thanks

I havn't seen those Team rims out yet. How much is a set? I'm bidding on a set from e bay right now @ $70 all together

Well i'm running the some HB rims and HB hubs the kind with the little screw to tighten so they don't fall off. I've had about a half gallon or so through it and haven't stripped anything yet. And i've got a hyper 8 so if they can't take it, then they would have already blown by now.

Heheheh, mine stripped, so I went to Traxxas rims. Unbelievably they have not stripped yet. They seem to fit much better and deeper. My brother jb welded his hexes. no more problems...

I have been running the hubs with the set screw from the begining, all that is good for is to keep from droping the pin when rempving the rims.As far as everyone using JB weld that will only work if you still use the stock HPI hubs. So what good are the HB lock down type?

Can anyone explain the JB weld mod, I have lost 2 wheel nuts and the hubs are starting to spin in the rims, will this get worse or should I keep using them until their shot?

it will most likely get worst but I'm not sure what the problem is but it did this to me and i can't quite remember what i did

i think i ended up buying something

Boy that was helpful. Man I feel even more lost than before.

Rosco, you might want to try some new hexes and new rims, I have not broken stock T-Maxx rims even with my .21 on there or if you want a little flashier rims try some of RPM's claws or other RPM rims. Remember RPM offers a lifetime warranty no questions asked. Even if you have to fork out $5 each way for shipping them they will be replaced for free.
