savage guys, I'm addicted to my savage x it has tons of power stock, but i want more. what kind of engine should i get to replace the 4.6? def wanna keep the roto start though.

thanks guys u already helped out alot n I'm tryin to get better at the forum thing I'm still new.

LRP .28 or .30 is the way to go man

are you wanting more top end speed or just massive acceleration ?

if you just want a torque master wheelie machine the 28 is the way to go,if your going for top end speed you would LOVE the 30

you can also change the gearing on your truck for more acceleration/topspeed if you want

hope i cud help

have fun

what do u think about the lrp32 ? i want torque n wheelies n stuff but my other thing is jumpin i love jumpin

It's a Monster! I have one on my Savage XL. I run a 16/49 gear set up and I get monster wheelies and gobs of top end. Plus its a breeze to tune and holds it really well. One of the easiest and hassle free engines i have ever worked with. I also have the .30 as well it is a great engine too.

does lrp .32 require any additional changes or can the motor just be installed? have to upgrade anything? does 4.6 motor mount work? I'm thinking about the .32 myself

I would also like to know this, but for the replacement of the k5.9 in the XL. Is it a direct swap?

I just replaced my 5.9 with the LRP .30 spec 2 I ran into an issue with the xl chassis and the lrp .30. on the left side the mount is flush against the tvp, and without grinding some of it away (which I don't want to do) I was unable to fit the 16T clutch bell and the stock 52T spur properly. It would mesh, but it was too tight and at a small angle. I replaced the clutch bell with a 14T, and it meshed perfectly. I do not have any other spur gear than the stock, but I imagine if you use a 47T or 49T spur you can put a higher clutch bell.

I run a 16 tooth cb and a 49 tooth plastic spur with my LRP.32. The power that engine puts out is more than enough to pull the front wheels off the ground and hold them there as long as you dare to keep the trigger pulled with that gear combination. I had no issues swaping it out. The clutch and flywheel both changed over with no problems. I think the only issue is the roto start. I think the backplates on the engines are different but I'm not 100% sure on that. I just use the pullstart that came with the engine I got tired of lugging the roto start around everywhere.
