so i just got a starter box since my pull start broke and i LOVE teh speed of the starter box compared with a pull start! but here is my problem... well there are several that i thinka re problems i'll just tell you the symptoms and you diagnose

1) when i start up it's all good. i slowly increase the throttle and then when i let off the engine is "idling" quite a few rpms higher and the wheels are spinning pretty fast

2) if i apply the brake the engine rpms shoot way way way way up! and there is no "stream of smoke" coming out my exhaust! (bad, right?)

3) i put a cloth by the output of my exhaust and held it there while i increased the throttle. the cloth was soaked in about 5 seconds and the color of it is pretty much the same color as it is unburned.

i was messing around with my needles and haven't found a good fit yet. and for the one needle that hooks up to the fuel (i don't know which is which) is "in" better? or is "out" better? (the needle i'm talking about is NOT the one where you make it lean or whatever)

please help!

You need to share what car you have, what engine you have, what kind of fuel you are burning and how much fuel you've run.

As for this, I have no clue what you are referring to. A picture would help. I'm guessing you're referring to the low speed needle, but I cannot say for sure.

yeah i found a site with a forum section dedicated to my ofna ultra comp lx. and found some good tips there. (and general tips like the pinch test) but i still havne't found the answer to whether liquid spraying out of my exhaust is good or bad.

oh yeah. i have run about 12 tanks in it. and i did that 2-3 minutes running then let cool for 15 break in method. i spent like my first 4 tanks doing that for my first week or so. so i'm pretty sure my engine is nice and broken in. BUT! i thought full throttle was when the trigger on my transmitter was all the way in so i thought i was doing half throttle but really it was full throttle. i didn't realize till the last few 3-on-15-off sessions that trigger all the way in is the same as trigger half way. any comments?

so to sum it up.

is my engine not broken in because i thought half trigger was half throttle? (when really half trigger is full throttle)

and

noticeable liquid spraying out of exhaust, good? or bad? (to the point where when i'm running it on my box, wheels off the ground, and there are several droplets near the exhaust exit.
