My Duratrax Nitro Evader ST is idleing fine now but it only runs for about 30 seconds and thedies. I am still in the process of breaking it in. Also there is a bubbling liquid coming out around the glowplug. The glowplug is t=as tight as I can get it.
Please eply if you no how to fix either of these problems.

ok, well...is your glow plug like so tight that you can or can't wiggle it with your fingers. Like on my RC10GT, the threads that hold the plug were stripped and it is in for repair right now. I see what you mean and all, but usually if your glow plug is not tight enough, it wont even start. Please answer this question:

1.) When you tighten the glow plug, is there a certain point at when you can't turn any farther (tight) or does it just go where it doesn't go any farther in, (keep turning, but doesn't go down any farther)

I t gets to a point where I can't turn it any further

Well, that doesn't make much sense. The only time that it does that for me is when I loosen the glow plug up to help it start. I then tighten it, and there is no fuel. The only other thing that I can think of, is try a new plug...you could have just got a bad plug that is slightly to small where that point is. I have never heard of that, but I am sure it could happen.

Ok. I'll try a new plug. Does anyone have advice about the car dieing?
Also I am using O'donnell R2R 10%

if fuel is bubbling out where the glowplug is then check to see if the little copper ring is on the glowplug and that should solve the fuel leak.

tyler

Yeah, i was gonna say you need that copper ring. If there isnt one, put a new plug with the ring in... If there is one, try a new plug and washer...

yup, both maxxmasher8 and .21Rc10GT are right. That is probably the problem. When you buy a new plug it comes with a copper ring, you should have one, but if you take out your glow plug often, they can be easy to lose. Also, why are you using 10% fuel?? That is airplane fuel. For cars, it is best to stay from 20% and above, so the engine gets the correct amount of fuel (nitro "stuff") to operate right.

O'Donnell R2R 10% is car fuel, but i dont know why the hell the make it... I would also suggest 20% or 30%. Although, fuel is not your problem, it is the glow plug and washer.

Well, the little washer is there and it still does this. Also, should I give up on 10% and get 20%?

I would switch to 20% after break in. As i stated, it is not the fuel that is the problem... Buy a new glow plug and stick it in... Make sure the washer is in there...

On the idleing problem... try turning the idle screw clockwise about 1/2 turn... it will raise the idle a little.

K. I'm going to try to run it tonight, I'll tell you how it goes.

wouldnt that make it more lean, causing it to overheat??

I didnt say anything about touching the high speed or low speed needle... Just the idle... It wont make it run leaner...
