Hey guys i have a tempermental k5.9 my brother in law just got.. And i can't seem to get the tune right can anyone give me a hand where i should set the carb screws for a good start? Then i can adjust the high as needed? Thanks. And it is past break in

Factory setting are hsn flush with line, lsn is set flush. Is this what you mean?

Yea. Caus i have the low where it needs to be thats not an issue and i just sealed it for him i think it was sucking air in the carb and the high screw wouldnt adjust properly because of it and every time i got high where i needed it the idle would be screwy again... Readjust that then go back to the high and its like a never ending cycle. I hope sealing it worked. And i needed a pointer on where i should start from

Check that 3rd needle also. Mine would back out from the vibration, which will totally screw up your lsn setting. I ended up Permatexing it in place, problem solved.

Now by 3rd needle u mean the one on the inner side of the carb right? The one on the gas tank side? And if so how many turns should that be at. Because i think thats where my problem is now

The one on the tank side is the lsn, which factory setting is flush. The needle opposite the lsn( its really a seat not a needle at all) is the one that was backing out on me. It should be flush also.

Ok because i have that one set flush and sealed.. Sooo the lsn is actually my issue then.. Ill set it flush and see what does for me

To set the mid range needle, remove the HSN housing. Look inside the HSN mounting hole as you turn the mid range needle screw, and you'll see there is a pin hole in the shaft. Set the screw so it's flush and the hole is in the center of the HSN housing. You can Loctite or Permatex it in place, since it does back out by itself.
