Moabs - and other mods

a while back a got a set of RPM titans, along with some bow-ties... regular maxx size for my revo. the insides of the rims rub the edges of my RPM arms, so I'm dead set on moving to the appropriate sized wheels... 40 series... check it -

anyway - I'm going to get new arms - BLACK - which i wanted to begin with... but some guy was buying them AS I WAS WALKING UP TO THE RACK! /sigh, anyway. i am moving to the proline Moabs on proline Wabashes . good choice?

theres the whole argument that these big wheels rob power from my bottom end, but i am putting in an RB Concept TM323 very soon... so I'm hoping these might actually keep the little beast under control.

First of all, the RB 323 will be MORE than enough power for your rig. I have one in mine and it is very hard to not grab a lot throttle and flip the thing. I am almost of the belief that it is not suited for racers, better for bashers.

The wheels sound ok, but Moabs are pretty heavy tires and better suited for multi-terrain applications. If you are not racing, then it is a good combo.

yeah, I'm not a racer as of now. some day, but the tracks just arnt near me. i have my bow ties on regular maxx rims, if i really feel the need to race. with the moabs, i just want something that LOOKS like a monster truck... since thats what it is. i think people forget the roots of monster trucks in general. do you ever see full scale monsters roaring around a track? maybe, but only to hear the crowd roar as they pull a sky wheelie 20ft into the air. if i do want to race some day, if the resources are available, then with all my bashing experience ill be able to fix any problem i may encounter. i figure thats the proper order of things. in the mean time...

ALL HAIL the 1/10 SCALE MONSTERS!!

i switched to a single servo a while back too. been wondering what to do with this hole, and i finally have an answer. i took my battery cover off (since I'm getting the integy aluminum one anyway) and cut it down to fit the hole. its a pretty clean finish, almost looks natural, like it was meant to be there. one of the main reasons was to keep my failsafe clean - since i put it on the inside of the receiver box. what do you think?

Looks good Mallanaga. Good idea on that cover, too.

And yes, the Moabs will definitely give you more of a MT look. The Moabs will move easy if you get the RB mill.

thanks rancher. I'm really psyched about getting that 23. I've been tossed for a while between the 18tm and the tm323, but thanks to all the advice and thoughts from the people here at RCNTalk, i am dead set on the 23. some people have had the tuning issues with it, but i will deal with that wall when i come to it. might even put some plumbers tape on it right out of the box.

how bout that carbon fiber chassis from vantage? man that thing looks hot. as i said, I'm a basher, but if i made a sort of custom mount to stiffen up the motor mount area, i think it would be rock solid... well... more like rock soft, but still, i dont see one of those things shattering. mind you i care not about the weight... its the ah factor I'm going for. make the people happy with the MT, lol.
