Started with a cheapie MN82 and ended up only using the plastic body(painted) and front suspension arms.
Used metal Mn parts for Chassis, diffs & front shockies. Also roof rack & bumpers(modded)
I believe the rear shockies, gearbox, tail shafts, motor and wheels suit a TRX4.
Took a bit of nifty metal work to properly secure driveline and rear suspension (included making own adapter bushes).
Just waiting on an ESC and metal servo before I can hook all the electrics up with a dumbo receiver.

I have a few more that I am modding so will update here. Wanting to stick to the mn82 so parts are all interchangeable.

Now that's probably the coolest MN I have seen. You need to get some thin sheet metal and fab up some spring clamps like these.

Or take the leafs apart and add more arc to the lower leafs so the tips stay pressed against the leaf above it.

I had that same problem on an HG-P407 and it broke the springs when they hit an edge of a concrete pad because the leafs separated like yours. But that is a fast truck. Not a crawler.

I have actually seen someone using heatshrink to clamp the springs. I will try that first and see how durable it is.
Surprisingly, I think it will still have a top speed of only 9 km/h atm. Probably due to the 45T motor. I will play around with it to get a good balance of torque and speed. I think ESC will arrive tomorrow!

I'm looking at the shock springs and thinking "what heat shrink" 🤔 then I realized we were talking about leaf springs. DUH! Just not used to seeing leaf springs on RC's that often. 🤣

Yes very cool, the truck is back in the repair shop after realising the springs are just not strong enough for the strain on them when driving full throttle. I will be switching to suspension arms. Second issue was all the metal on metal bolts eventually loosening due to vibration. I think it will be a very reliable truck after these fixes.
