That looks awesome! If you want the road black though I'd flip it over and start on fresh wood, then paint it black and then add everything you've already done. Then add the wax if that's how you want to go. Or add the silicone carbide and more wax for the look and bite you're looking for.

It's gonna be tough otherwise. Honestly, I think the carbide could look really good.

I honestly kinda like the look of the raw wood. Its lowkey been growing on me
 
Nice job looking good! I’m hoping to put together a mini z track as well. Thinking of the 2’ X 2’ foam tiles and the similar white & orange curbing. Have you fixed the curbing down, & with what?
