I was tired of my starter battery going dead so I put a 3300 mah nimh battery in it. Will this cause problems?, and yes it really turns over!

As long as it's of proper voltage, the mAh rating won't really cause any problems. Basic rule of thumb is that the higher the mAh, the longer it will go between charges.

yeah you just want it to be 7.2V. i was using a 1500 mAh for a while with my EZ start, than i went to a 3500 7.2V and it was sooo much better. you can actually use it without a separate igniter.
as long as its 7.2V stick pack. i would say 3300 mAh is perfect for a EX start system
and if you bash for long. either have an extra battery pack fully charged, or get yourself a nice DC charger.
as for myself. i ended up using a pullstart anyways. so at least i got some extra batteries laying around. always a good thing =]

Going to the 3300 is night and day. Now I have the juice to fire up the truck, no problem. If you are having a problem starting your Revo, put in a better battery in the starter pack. It shows no signs of going dead, amazing. I got the battery at Hobby Shack for $26, 3300 nimh 7.2 volt.

More power!! I bet that thing really spins the motor well.
For myself, I'm considering getting a pull start to use with my igniter. I'm so tired of lugging around the wand. I found with a separate igniter, the motor fires so much easier, except now I have to carry both the wand and igniter.
