Mid Block options for Revo

Hello again guys, more questions from me...

Becoming very interested in looking at motors with a bit more displacement than the default 3.3 motor. Been trying to do a lot of research on different types of motors and I am not quite sure at the moment. I am pretty much looking for a motor that has enough power to throw around 40 series trenchers (for jumping) but not something so insanely powerful that its excessive. To give you an idea, kind of liked the Picco .26 Max (non red dot), Sirio .23, and others similar. What would you guys recommend? Also, as far as mounting options I do not have tools available to grind or chip away at anything at all, so whichever big block kit that requires no modification with linkages or anything else would be beneficial. I do like the EZ Start systm.. so compatability for that is a must. And what would the equiv O.S engine be to those? Thanks everyone

I'm in the process of putting a picco 26 jlr into my revo.. waiting for motor to come off backorder and its go time.. no mods required, just engine mount and optional exhaust and clutch system if you can fork out the dosh, but its highly recommended to get the full power out of the motor.

a lot of people go the picco. why dont you want the JL red dot?

To be honest, I dont dislike the red dot.. beyond my ignorance when it comes to the different styles of motors, from what I read the red dot is kind of crazy with power. I guess it came down to a balance of power/reliability and what is available (in stock) currently. I dont want something thats overwhelming, but I dont like the loss of accel due to the added weight of the trenchers.. I am a basher mostly. What motors are good/equiv to the Maxx or Red Dot? Or, if you know something about it I dont (most likely) please share =)

Also, been hearing good things about the New Era mount, but I can't seem to find those anywhere. Tons of mixed opinions on the Traxxas Big Block kit, and the Ofna mount seems to be the 2nd best under the New Era?

And where are you ordering your jlr from?

i dont see a point in going half way, less less. if ur going to get a .26 engine get the best you can get. there is always the .32 motors you can upgrade to later

Ok so, I found a sirio. 23 on ebay w/ a trinity pipe and motor mount. What do you guys think? As far as power is concerned i have heard alot of good things about the motor, but it is used and being new to ebay as well, i am not familiar with the seller in question (hobby addiction) either.

get the picco the sirio is discontinued and you will have a hard time finding parts also a very hard engine to keep a tune on
