some time ago i posted that the marvel mystery oil does not mix with methanol. info came from marvel. they say to not use it in methanol fuels. so today i tested it. and mmo will not mix with methanol. but the mmo DOES stick very good to the container i tested in. so do not use it in your fuel. but i think useing as after run oil should be ok. and dont forget to use it in your street truck gas, 4 oz to 10 gal of gas.

You mean my 1:1 truck? That gets gas and gas only.
I do have some MMO for storing my nitro engines though.

The only thing that works for my 1:1 fuel injection systems is a Snap-on fuel care machine that I have access to.

well every one has there own ideas about upper lube. i have nothing against other brands. but i have been using MMO in gasoline for 30 years. but most of the time i get rid of a truck before for i get a lot of miles on it, 250,000 miles.

Well that may be fine on an old vehicle, but it's not needed on an injected one. Injected engines run very clean and rarely need any special additives.

BUT it doesn't seam to hurt them. and it starts MUCH faster. and dont forget what the alcohol in gas does the lubrication. have talked to the guys that work on lawn mowing engines? i know a guy that has 3-4 machines he mows with he uses an upper lube. one of his machines has 2,000 hours on it.

i think your point is that newer cars / trucks dont need upper lube. but you use "Snap-on fuel care machine". i do NOT put down other products. some might be fine. but i like the idea of a VERY small amount of upper lube, all the time. works good. i am NOT telling you to use it.. iam just saying it DOES work for me. dont for get gasoline is OVER 100 years old. and it changes from time to time. and now we are stuck with alcohol in the gas. all 3 of the alcohols are VERY VERY dry. I.E NO lubrication.

Do you even know what a Snap-on fuel care machine is, or does?

I did it to my '07 Nissan Titan with 85,000 miles on it. It cleaned the injectors, intake valves, and even helps the converters and O2 sensors.

How do I know this is true? I have a very nice little scanner that can read all kinds of fuel trim and air/fuel information as well as all the other systems on the vehicle.
When my fuel trims were a little off from one bank to the other I knew it was time to hook up the fuel care. After 15 minutes of running on the fuel care my fuel trims evened out and everything from bank 1 to bank 2 is pretty much even like it should be.
This is probably the only time I'll ever use it, because once this rig is paid off I'll be getting a newer one. The fuel care machine is not about "upper lube" either, it's about cleaning. Upper lube is supplied by the engine oil, and the valves and valve seats do not need anything. I probably could've let the truck go into eternity without any problems, but the machine was there to use, why not use it once.

i said it before. ill say it again iam sure your product is good. iam sure it does do what you say. i never said anything against that product. i NEVER say anything against something i havent tried. i NEVER said you should use the MMO.

You're right, but you did say "and don't forget to use it in your street truck gas, 4 oz to 10 gal of gas".

Then you said "and don't forget what the alcohol in gas does to the lubrication".

The purpose of this thread is say that mmo won't mix with methanol, so why would I use it gasoline that contains ethanol?

I'm not going to argue about your personal opinion of this product, because it makes great after run oil. I'm sure it has a purpose, but apparently that purpose is a "mystery". :D

Yeah I know, but I also have a right to my opinion. My opinion is, there's almost nothing that you can add to gasoline to make it better. Dry gas, ethanol blend fuel conditioner, stabil, etc do what they say, but I don't believe in fuel injector cleaner or other magical fuel additives.

No hard feelings Moe.
