RC Driving Style
hey guys, haven't been here in a while, was busy with school and stuff...

anyways, i was driving my buggy (x-terminator deluxe) over the weekend, and all was going good except for 2 things.

1. the pipe and plastic coupler keeps slipping off the header when i go off a jump. is there any way to keep it on. i've tightened up the zip ties to no avail.

2. after a couple tanks i noticed that the spur and pinion were slipping on each other. i ahve no idea how 2 metal gears can strip and/or move apart. should i just loosen the engine mounts and put everything back in place? or is there anything else i should do?

thanks for everyone's help, hopefully i'll stay for now

The pipe thing, you could make sure the end of your pipe is flared, and when I used a cupler I used hose clamps to make sure they never came apart. It works like a dream.

The gear mesh isn't a big deal, just loosten your screws and reset the mesh then tighten it back up, make sure to use locktite.

Your problems should be fixed!

Use a screwdriver, put the long end in so the handle is about an inch from the pipe. Then just rub the driver around the opening being careful not to gouge the inside of the pipe. This will make a clean flare and won't hinder performance. You could also take a pair of plyers and flare it like that, but it won't be a clean flare and it will prob hurt the performance. HOpe this helps.

i use rtv silicon om joins let them set over night and then good cable ties they never come undone

with the pipe i had the same prob. The little wire or pipe mount that goes in through the end of the pipe is what your looking for. Thight both set screws on the mounts that the wire goes throught. Also while they are loose hold your header and push up on the piepe. What happening is when you land the wire does not brace the pipe on the impact because wire is sliiping. Causing your pipe to fall out of the header.

haven't tried flaring yet, but i got some hose clamps. i'll see how they do tomorrow when i go bashing :)
