just curious as to what people are running in their MERVs. i can't quite figure out what to do with the gearing on mine. right now I have a 55 tooth spur on and the stock high speed pinion on. what can i do to achieve maximum top speed? and how do u guys run on 4s? last time i ran mine on 4s, i screwed up my esc. i have yet to do a standing backflip on mine...just trying to get the best out of it without messing up something.....thanks guys

I run the high speed pinion and stock spur, on 3s this will do backflips all day long. I ran 4s once on mine and decided that I didn't want to buy a new esc so I didn't do it again because you have to do it with no lipo cutoff and the esc can't handle it for too long.

yea... unfortunately, i ran mine on 4s too long....got a new esc though, and the 1/16th slash that came with it. now i need another esc so the old lady will run them with me...lol anyways, so i'm assuming that the lower the teeth are on the pinion the more top end you'll have? and the more teeth on the spur the more acceleration you'll have? is that correct? and great video!!! i guess i need some 3s lipos. what's a good brand that'll fit in the battery compartment?

I ran the 3s Zippy 1550's that I bought from hobby king. On your gearing question it is actually opposite, smaller pinion= lower top speed but more torque. I found the stock spur with the high speed pinion to be great for most applications it seemed to keep the front tires planted a bit more so I could turn:D. btw here is another MERV vid I had.
