So, my HD with all my music and videos on it goes tits up and I have been unsuccessful reviving it. Decided I was going to bite the bullet and re-rip all my CD's and have been working on this for about four days now.

What a frickin' trip this has been!

I'm ripping CD's I forgot I even had! Here are a few examples of some of the prizes from my past!

Gene Loves Jezebel
Plastic Fantastic
The Fixx
Duran Duran
Hootie & the Blowfish (WTF?)
Christopher Cross
Enya (still like her stuff, by the way)
Beck
Living Colour
Cinderella

Anyone else ever experienced a digital acid flashback before? Man, there are some I haven't played since I graduated from college close to 15 years ago!

Yep I know what you mean. A couple months ago I decided to sell all of my cds because I have them all in mp3's now (and backed up twice!) so I had to sort through them all and I put it up as a lot of about 400 on ebay, found some stuff I had gladly forgotten!

duran duran?? oh man...your stock went down in my book. haha
i'm to afraid to look back at the collection. i know there has to be atleast 1 yani or genesis CD...

Well, today we did our Christmas with my kids. And I gave them Guitar Hero 3 for Wii. There are tons of great classics in that game that made my GF and I laugh. The girls looked at us like we were insane because we were singing along!
And just last night I was looking through my collection looking for a Marillion CD my brother wanted a copy of. And flashed back on some of my older stuff. Indigo Girls. Siouxie and the Banshees. Live. Candy Skins. Queensryche. Even bad hair bands like Winger and Warrant. Mikght have to bust some out for a flashback concert.

Hey Monkey, I have a memory for ya.....Remember when you were sporting that pretty power puff girl avatar? Now that was funny, who's ready to see that again?

I have almost everything she's ever done. I hope you're not apologizing for being a fan of someone with such perfect pitch and talent.

All the other ones...um, I don't recall. :mex::trashed:

No, no. Not apologizing at all. I'm a metal head at heart, but something about her music...she's just a remarkable singer and the music is just so relaxing.

I also like it because it drives my crazier than a poop-house rat of an Aunt nuts! She's convinced it's Satanic because she sings some songs in Gaelic! No matter how much I try to convince her otherwise, she still believes it to be evil!

Yeah, I remember. I'm looking very much forward to the humiliation you'll experience when you're wearing something along the same lines, smacktard!

Monkey probably was embarrassed to admit he found his Leif Garret and Culture Club cds.

Nah, I've got them on vinyl, along with Cyndi Lauper and Wham!

Ha!! Wham.... It seems that is the only Christmas song you hear anymore.... George Michael singing about some dude that dropped him. Still trying to get that one out of my head!!

Anywho... I found some Def Leppard, Guns N Roses, Montley Crue, and Public Enemy on tape hidding in the basement.... those were the days... I also found some Beasties and a copy of the Ghetto Boyz! Ha!
