Do you guys remember those days? The days when you would always look in the rc books at those electric or nitro RC's you thought you would never have, the days when while you were dreaming you would bring your tyco rc out and pretend it does 40MPH. I was about 6 when I got my first rc car. It was from tyco. It went forward and only turned in reverse. Those were the days.

I got my first RC from my dad when I was 12. I still remember it is a buggy type of RC from Nikko, runs with 12 AA. There is no such thing as battery pack for it back then. So I have to charge the batteries over night and the next day I will only able to play it for 30 - 45 min top. But it was fun!

I actually beg my dad for a week or so for the RC. :D The sad thing is, I can't remember what happened to that buggy.

Had the Tyco as well and the Nikko rides. My Tyco was called the Turbo hopper. It was cool then but I outgrew that and then got the MRC TAMIYA Boomerang and the gift became a hobby.Which is now grown even more. Lol. I remember when I got my first RC10 championship edition. Man I was so cool! Now I wonder about motors that cost me what I paid for my RC10 then! I paid for that RC10 but took a long time. Now I got stop Buying so much.

My first RC was a Tamiya Hot Shot. Beat the snot out of it untill it finally ended up in a shoe box and then the trash. I wish I still had it and recently looked into getting another one. Little did I know it is now a collectors item and costs well over 4 bills for a NIB kit. :depress:

I had the new tyco every year from about 6-11. It was my big christmass present from my dad and mom. I satarted reading about nitro when iwas 12 and got a t-maxx for that christmass. 2Years latter hoppin to get a revo. Thats all iremember but I'm really young also.

I had the trubo hopper too, I love d it. Hoever I remmeber this four w2heeler I got by nikko that would popwheelies all the time and it wasn't all that fast but I loved it too. it was the best..

night guys.. I gotta open tomrorow.

I had some el'cheapos when I was a kid. I blame my parents for my current addiction. J/K All I ever wanted was a RC that had no cord, and didn't have to go in rev. to turn. Well, never had one, got into other things (fums-perfums, and car fums LOL!) Then a friend of mine was hard up for bar money one weekend, and offered a NPI Nitro Rush for $20. Man, that thing was sweet! bald tires, broken motor mount, and trashed shocks, but it ran, and it was nitro. Who could pass that up for $20

ahhhhhh the good ol days, I'm young as well only 24 but i remember gettin my first car, it was attatched to this piece of wire that went to the controller and i had to follow it around staying close to it, about 5 feet away, was good exercise, and it too, only turned in reverse, do any of you remember that car from tyco that had the button on the controller that made the body pop up and it became an off road car, not an r/c but there was also this big yellow truck that had these wide tires on it and when u pressed a button on it the tires would expand, they kinda had thses holes in them and it made thm bigger, i too remember that fourwheeler that popped wheelies, tyco, nikko, newbright, I've probally had a car from all those people at one point in time

anyone remember the landshark from niko? that was my 1st rc. i spent many hours playing with it. i still have it too, even drive it once in a while...

my first r/c was a mad max i think. It had a clicker you had to click it once to turn left twice to turn right and so on. it got me hooked man that was like 25 years ago

My first R/C was a Tamiya Hornet, that I bought when I was 21 in 1985. A few months later, I discovered organized racing, and won the first race I entered (Sportsman class for Tamiya-type cars). Since then, I've gone through a Tamiya Frog, 2 RC10's, an RC10 sprint car conversion, 2 different pan cars, 2 electric trucks, a Traxxas Nitro 4tec, and now I have an Ofna 1/8 scale buggy, a Traxxas Nitro Rustler, and an HPI micro RS4....Needless to say, I'm eat up with the hobby.

I got into R/C a little later on in life. My first truck was an MRC ThunderKing. A big electric truck... I threw bigger motors & an expensive electronic speed control in it, & it was a blast.. After gaining some experience with it, I moved on to the Losi XXT, Losi XXTCR & then a Clodbuster... What a blast... I ran them at a local (behind store) track, until they closed up shop. I then sold em for peanuts, & left R/C for a few years. The new Traxxas TMaxx sparked my interest again, I bought one, & never looked back.. My collection has since grown, & my love and respect for this great hobby has grown considerably.
Thanks to sites like RCNT, I am still hooked on the latest & greatest R/C's...

A clicker? You mean like the old TV remotes? I used to have a Zenith TV that had a remote that didn't use batteries. We called it a clicker, and it had harmonic bars that would be hit by a spring loaded hammer, if you will, and that sent a tone out of human hearing range to the TV.

i got Nikko r/c's every year form 6 to baout 11 then i started to tear them up and paint and customize them . i remember this "new bright" brand chevy silverado it was crazy wheelies on demand. sadly it broke. i also remember a red nikko hummer. it would only turn to the right. then i had the nikko dodge ram that one only reversed and turned. i broke too many. then just last year i got my rs4

ya thats what it was a clicker! we had a tv like that to.I think it only had two buttons on it.

Ours had 4 buttons. On/off, channel up, channel down, and volume/mute that had four levels. Mute, really low, low, normal, and full blast. That's sweet that they made RC's like that. I've never heard of a clicker RC. I bet it would be worth some bucks to a collector these days.

my first r/c was the tyco and nikko ones, then the radio shack 1350 ft in a minute one LOL. then my first real hobby r/c was a bolink digger, i loved that car. it was at hobbytown usa, on the counter, a guy had alot of cash in it, i picked it up for a hundred dollars, ran on a nikko pack haha. had a red beetle body, good times, it was all graphite too. no suspension, that is the car i learned on. now I'm about to get a XB8. Some people that dont do r/c think its a waste of time and stuff, but its not, it is really fun and you do learn stuff from it. Lean / rich, electronics, etc. and building skills. its a great hobby, and I'm sure i will be doing it for a long time. later

My first was the radio shack red arrow! the second was the golden arrow
Here's the controlers

Here's the golden arrow

After it broke I put a mecanical speed control in, some old crap servos. The I upgraded to a metal futabe radio with a hard plastic wheel it was an old square box lol. the cool thing was that I put a reedy outlaw in it, and it beat my neighbors rc10-t on the straights.. ahrd to control tho that's for sure.. wow the fun

Now you guys who had the biggest and baddest below, speak up lol! they rocked! no more two sticken it!

Bad Ass futaba here

That futaba is bad a$$ man. Where can I get one? Nice find. LOL!!!!!!!

i'll draw up a list of the r/c's i've owned in my time. includin the 7-8yr gap i went w/o them. it'll b scary 2 me 4 certain.
