upon changing my chassis after my crash, i noticed that the heat produced from the exhaust has started to melt the side guard under the exhaust....... is this a common problem? is there a way to prevent it or is there something that can be placed between the exhaust and guard to kinda absorb and dissipate the heat to prevent it from melting?

what kind of car and secondly can you get Pics? They would be help full in this situation. Cause then we can see what going on. You might have missed something that someone else can inform you of.
