I think the meaning of water resistant, dealing with speed controllers is that there's no circuit board to short out when it gets wet. As I recall from my Tamiya days, the slower the speed, the hotter they get, since the speed is controlled by resistance from wound wire, insulated in ceramic.

I knew you were an old timer when you talked abour MSC shattering. :jk:

Those were the old tamiya and Associated ceramic POS's. While i still wouldn't use one, the "newer" say like from 1985 :) Tamiya MSC is a pretty good piece for what it is.

They used plastics for the main body with the metal contacts underneath. When used with their switch lube they became very good in water. i had 4 or 5 Clods with their stock MSC in them and they worked great for a full of mud, drive it into the lake basher. :)

I've got a suggestion....why not get a waterproof esc designed for a boat? Or even yet, I think the Mtroniks esc's are waterproof, but I don't know if they can handle 2 motors. But I do know that there are waterproof boat esc's out there that can handle two 550+ motors and enough cells. That way you can stick them where the wind (and water) will hit them and they'll stay cool.

Actually, you know what....what not just waterproof YOUR esc?? There is a special electronics grade epoxy you can coat your esc with and it makes it waterproof. Check out this link: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/accessories.htm
and go to the bottom where you'll find the "3m Dp-270 Conformal Epoxy" for $11.99 and read up on that.

Hey I was thinking the same type like Rolex.. Not that old man.LOL

I have never tried any other MSC after getting an ESC. Love em!!

What do you mean by old?
<----------Does that look old? I'm just telling you things my grandfather told me.
He also said they eventually added a good heat sink to the resistor to make it last longer, since shattering was a common complaint.
I think that's what he said. He was kind of hard to understand with that big burn blister on his tongue.
