www.horizonhobby.com. And I think it is a great buggy to start racing with. You have to learn on someting and from the looks of things it can be quite competitive with top dollar kits.

There are 3 different stages for the Mayhem. 2 ARR and 1 RTR. The first of the ARR has no RX/TX and servos. The second ARR has Servos but no RX/TX. Both of these come with the .21 race engine. The RTR comes with the JR XR3i and has most of the hopups included with it.

I too am researching this buggy, amongst others, and it's one of the nicer RTR packages.

well id definetly be getting a kit.. just right now i dont think i can afford to get everything oyu need seperate.. i need it al in one package..ya kno?

I hear ya, I'm in the same boat ... kinda. Kit would be nice but for me to just be using this buggy as a kick around, a kit wouldn't be practical. WHEN I get more experience in buggies and want to get competative, just as I did with touring cars, then I will be getting the kit. Just knowing myself, I will be racing off-road by the time next summer rolls around. Just gotta divide the time between on and off road racing.

I have a Mayhem Pro kit without motor and electronics. I really like it.

Here is my advice on the RTR as opposed to the kit without the engine.

RTR:
Good starter package, need to upgrade steering servo.
Simply remove both servos, and put the one that you used for the steering, for your throttle and brake. Purchase a higher torque like a $50 645MG from high tech.
Go ahead and reglue the stock wheels and tires, they will come off.
And ditch the stock clutch shoes and springs. Try a better set of clutch shoes, like the white ones that are used for the MBX-5, and 1.1 clutch springs. The reason why is during the first heat this past Saturday, the stock clutch and springs didn't make it through the first heat race.

Pro:
Also, the front and rear shock towers are half the thickness than those on the pro kit. The tie-rods for the the front and rear are thicker as well on the pro kit. And anything that protects the front and rear differentials are somewhat thicker on the pro kit as well.

just a note for you guys, the lightning pro and or sacker pro is an exact copy of a kyosho kanai 2, i wouldnt want to line it up agianst my mbx or xb8 but there actually quite a nice kit, dont know if price is an issue for you guys though cause i dont know what they cost
