I am trying to get my mayhem to turn better. it is not turning liek it should. my setup right now is 7/7/3 on the diff oils and 70/45 on the shock oils. any help would be appreciated

try seting it to 5-7-1 (front-center-rear) and go 40-35 (front-rear).....that will give you less push from the back when you corner and allow the shocks to give a lil more so you won't traction roll...also make sure the Batt pack is fully charged every time you go...weak pack = weak steering.....what exactly is the steering issue you are having and we can probably pin it down better for you....

to me it is just not turning right going into the corners which makes it go nice and wide. and i charge my pack between each race.

not turning right how? is it ass happy and swings around or is it plow-steering and going wide?
is it turning too tight and slamming into boards?
is it unloading in the turn?
there are many questions we canask you but unless you are specific each one of those questions I listed will get you a different change needing to be made to your buggy......

LOL
I had to use that one....I was forced at lip lock to watch mcguire sunday night

I agree with Plaidfish

when you turn the buggy on the straight in front of you, you should really be able to turn it using only 2/3 th of the track wide..

use a digital servo hitec 9625 is economic

you can dremel off the bit that will alow a shorter radius
when you see carefully what the steering does, it's the little bit touching between arms and uprights

or cut some 2 mm of the front of the front arms

let me see if i can put it right. i guees it is more of my off power steerign that is just not right. i will letoff the throttle to go into the turn and it goes wide. just about the whole width of the track. is that normal for this buggy???. i am still trying to get it set and needing help. also got a fast corner at the track that everyone goes WOT around and they are tight and i have to let off to make it and it is wide. way wide

Check your radio's steering dual rate to see if it is letting your servo get full travel (usually the thumb adjustable dial or toggle). If it is, try raising your rear roll center (inner tie rod mount upward), stiffening your rear anti roll bar, adjusting your brake bias rearward, using thicker weight rear diff oil, or stiffening your rear shock springs.

Edit: Just remember, one change at a time. Document everything, including side effects.

Mudbug, i noticed the same thing with my Mayhem. On power steering isn't that great, but yours sounds worse than mine was. I only had a problem with my Mayhem while on power though, not off power. I would go with what Kx250 said, and make sure your end points are set properly and the dual rate is turned up. Here is a link to car setup. Click on the buggy setup link on the left.

I did a dumb thing with mine, and it made it next to impossible to turn. I had taken the car apart for cleaning and when I put it back together, I had the wire that holds the pipe in place touching the stearing riser. That was enough of a bind to practically stop my wheels from turning.

also when I checked my car the original mayhem servoarm for hitec was turning loose on the little teeths losing steeringpower
I replaced it with my servo brands arm and all was much better

if this is equal amount of steering in both directions I'd say
1: check your EPAs
2: Check to be sure there is nothing limmiting the travel of the steering linkage...remove the servo linkage and see if anything prevents full travel..
3: make sure you don't have a bad servo or weak pack...
4: see if you can dremel out some of the steering knuckle/C-hub or pillow ball carrier for more movement, like gdc02 suggested....

Another thing me and a couple guys did locally to our Mayhems is stand the steering servo up. Shouldn't make a difference, but for some reason it did. We got a few extra degrees out of it when we checked on the setup station.

70 wt up front is way too much. It won't let the weight of the buggy to transfer up front. I'd go 40 max.

why not switch back to the original diff oils that came with the car? I have one and haven't touched the oils and it turns precisely on a dry hard track. This might be obvious but have you checked your tires...are they going bald or are they wrong for the track?

ok
been checking out everything on my buggy and my diffs are awfully tight. i mean really tight. i am wondering if i pull the shims from the spider gears to loosen the diffs up if it will help with the handling.

Have they always been this tight? They normally loosen up as the gears bed in.

If the front diff is binding up then this could explain why your car is pushing wide on corners.

Also check that your servo saver has not worked loose. I have resorted to using blue threadlock on my servo savers to stop this happening.

they are just about as tight with oil in it as without oil. i mean they are pretty tight. about 3 times as tight as my savage.

can you roll them easily?? if not sounds like you need rebuild....maybe the cup is warped and pressing on the internal gears too much.......w/o feel/seeing it it's hard to tell....

When you changed the diff oils how much oild did you put in them? FIll to the top or to the crosshairs of the gears? If you are too full you will not get the correction action out of your diff.
