1 really easy upgrade that is totally free and requires no extra parts.
it doesn't add any performance but it looks sweet

I've only done this to the older t-maxx setup. the one with the trx.15.

take off the exhaust header and put it on upside down.

then you can mount the pipe right out the back.... no more grime all over your maxx!!

i had to trim the stock body it came with to make room for the new exhaust pipe in the back put you could do some trim work to the body posts and not have to modify the shell you choose to put on.

that sounds like it would work. but i would jut go and get the MIP stinger exhaust. same thing but better!

I just put my stock .15 header on my O.S. Max because the header from the O.S. mounting holes stripped out on me. I had to modify my body and my shock tower brace. Just had to trim a little off the shock tower brace, but my body and the shock tower is needing replaced. Good idea bashmaster.

yeah i also flipped the header on my old maxx and added a stinger. I didn't like how the stinger pipe header went under the body brace, with just the stock header flipped the stinger pipe stays on the outside of the body posts.

I've been running it like that for awhile now and some times when the truck rolls the pipe separates from the header because it hits the ground and my coat hanger brace gives, so i may try to run a silicon pipe(from lowes) off of the exhaust pipe out of the back and put the pipe back where it was.

The problem that you discovered with running your header in that fashion is only the beginning. When you run the header flipped like that there is no place for the exhaust oil/fuel to run off. This can lead to a hydrolocked engine and blown shafts. I have heard of too many bad things from running the header flipped.

Your best solution is to get a GS Racing exhaust deflector or make one from some silicone tubing from Lowes (as you mentioned).
