I was running my maxx today and it started getting really choppy and cuttin out on me. Sometimes the steering and throttle would both get stuck causing it to go as fast as it was with the wheels the same direction they were, i'm sure u can tell that that's not going to turn out good. I'm new to this so any help would be GREATLY appreciated!?!?

I am assuming Tmaxx? Are you running a fail safe? Sounds like a glitching issue to me. If you are not running a fail safe get one ASAP. They are cheap insurance against a run-away rig.

Make sure your batteries are good and if you can, upgrade to a 5 cell rechargeable reciever pack with an on-off switch. Then check your antenna wire, all electrical connections/wires and even the throttle linkage. Definitely get a failsafe!! If all that checks out make sure you don't have any loose metal parts banging around...#1 would be a pipe and header that are too close together. The metal vibrating together can cause interference.

Also make sure your throttle return spring is set right.

I jus put new batteries in it and it is actually an s-maxx. but could a pipe to close to the header cause the steering and throttle to get stuck? When they get stuck all it takes is me manually moving the tires or throttle linkage for it to run normal again. yet it still idles high to low a lot

Well if it is an SMaxx that really doesn't change things. You didn't say if you have a fail safe. A fail safe keeps your rig from running off at full throttle if you incur glitching due to radio interference. If you don't have one get one.

If you are running "AA" batteries it is very possible you are not getting enough juice to the system.

A fluctuating idle is usually a sign of an air leak. You can seal it up. There are plenty of how to articles in here for sealing an engine. It sounds like you have a bad servo, it's trying to move back to center and and robbing your radio of valuable juice.....MAYBE. Four aa batteries gives you 4.8 volts, a 5 cell pack is 6 volts.

Try giving us a more detailed description of what's going on if you could please.

my battery pack only hold 2AA batteries. and i just rebuilt the throttle servo and cleaned out the steering servo. But still it doesn't want to turn very good especially when i'm still giving it some throttle.

Two "AA"s is only 2.4 volts. Therein lies part of your issue. Even 4 "AA"s at 4.8 volts isn't enough. As 2revo1maxx suggests you really need a good 5 cell RX pack. They run 6 volts and the biggest ones are 1600 mAh which not only give you the voltage you need but enough juice to run all day.

Get an RX pack ASAP (or at least a four cell "AA" holder) and a fail safe for your rig too!
