Hi guy's : I was out running my Maxx 2.5R today I have it tuned pretty well running Temp's are around 190- 220 Deg's. I would like my MAXX to Burn-Out alittle more in loose gravel & loose dirt. Now when I pull trigger WOT @ a standstill my MAXX launches DECENT but I would like my tires to Throw the dirt more.. I am thinking of adjusting the Slipper Clutch a tad I am assuming with the Tighting or Looseing the Slipper willl transfur more power to the wheel's.
My Bashing buddy suggested I turn my HSN a tad to make engine turn more RPM's & that will give me more wheel spin But I don't want to over heat engine I know 260-270 deg's is about MAX temp for a nitro & I am pretty much satisfied with temps I am running now & well within the TRX 2.5R norm power band..:\

what spur gear and clutch bell combo are you running. you can gear it lower with a different tooth, clutch bell gear.

Gearing lower will help as stated above but you can also look at leaning your LSN a little so It doesn't "load up" when sitting at a standstill. I have always had my slipper locked tight on my Maxx to help with the wheelies. Also what tires are you running? Too big and heavy will work against you with lowend power as it takes more power/rpms to turn the heavier tires.

I am running a 70-T spur I do beleve the stock spur was 72-T & pinion gear is stock.. I diden't even think of the gearing of my current setup Thanks for info guy's.. What would be a good pinion gear to run.. I think I will turn down my LSN a smidge as well & see what happend's.. Also I run a MIP racing clutch I dont know if that makes a differance

Ok: I took my MAXX out for another run along with my friend & adjusted my LSN as phins fan suggested.. Performance of the engine was better & Temp's where still good slightly a tad higher "it dident load up to quickly"...
Also engine seemed to be more responsive & my Maxx even did alittle better in the loose gravel & dirt "But I would still like to get it alittle closer to more wheel spin for burn-out's"
Even my friend asked what adjustments I made & said he even noticed a differance..

Now all's I need to do is figure out what is a good pinion gear to run Any suggestion's as I metioned I am running a 70-T Spur & again guys thanks for you help...

They are cheap enough to experiment get a 72t etc. high tooth count = more bottom end that chart is a great guide for stock/close/wide ratio. You can change the clutch bell and increase even more. Just be careful not to tighten spur to much or they can strip and start breaking parts, haha but it makes for good video!
