Hey fellas... Long post I know sorry. Over the weekend I finally got my maxx ready to tear up some turf. I spent the past week trying to break in the new 2.5, only for it to chew a spur gear with each tank of fuel. Anyway, finally got it broken in and I was able to run it around in the yard. It's quick now. :cheerful: So I was running it around in the yard, the wet and muddy yard, and it got a little messy, especially after it got dark and I couldn't really see where it was going, until I noticed it not steering properly. I tried to bring it back but the steering wouldn't respond. I went up and got it, and when I brought it inside for a look, I noticed that I had destroyed the lower front right A arm, smashed both bulkheads in the front, bent both right front shocks, cracked the reverse servo and the front diff. So I had to spend a little time repairing the truck. I got everything fixed except the reverse servo and the cracked diff housing, mainly because I didn't know they were broken until after I got back from the parts store. I gave it a thorough cleaning too, (it needed it bad :D ) bringing me to my question, what's a good way to clean the maxx? I used a grit soap and water on mine. It cleaned good, but looks like it's a little rough for the finish on the plastic parts. What about the engine too? can that whole thing be immersed in water to clean? there's mud etc. all through the cooling head and I need to get it out but don't know if it's a good idea to get that wet.
Could I get some opinions? Thanks

after bashing, especially when muddy, i just take the hose and squirt it down. just make sure that u dont hit the servos with barely any water.

haaa, I told you the same thing Gary.. but I have my servos in baloons...(well did. I plastic diped em 2 nite)

When I'm done I pull the body off and Hose it all down. Then wd40 the shafts etc.. wipe the body off with water and a rag and dry the truck down. I pull the rims , motor, and tank and give it a through cleaning with q tips and paper towles.

Ya, I just make sure not to soak the airfilter /carb area.

but with how bad your maxx was tear it down.

already done... I wonder if you could use some shop cleaning solvent on the engine?

I'll have to try that because I was thinking about tearing the engine down, but since it's so new I'd rather not do that.
