Okay so I got a used tmaxx 3.3 4908 ran great doin the tires everything awesome running. I noticed the rear driveshaft was twisted almost broke so I saw online revo drive cups and 77mm dogbone.

I install the dogbone with one oring in each cup, clean and oil the air filter which looked like it hadn't been oiled in awhile. Installed a dynamite exhaust deflector and new zip ties on manifold to pipe was leaking. Now not near the power slow acceleration never shifts doesn't rev as high or fast. So far I've tightened the slipper helped some but not enough.

I guess I'm gonna put the old shaft on see if it goes back like it was but idk, I need help lol.

The bone shouldn’t be a problem unless you shimmed it way too tight with the o-rings, even then you should notice any binding when you roll the rig on the ground. Grab the dog bone and move it forward and aft in the cups, there should be at least 1mm of play so it doesn’t put pressure on the diff input pinion.

How heavily did you oil the air filter when you cleaned it? Too much oil can and will often make the engine run rich due to more air restriction.

I put jus one oring in each cup it's got plenty of play prolly two r three mm but not enough to fall out by any means so I left it. Well it had prolly never been oiled so I cleaned with dawn n applied enough I don't think too much would running the filters dry be okay?

R should I get a new filter n try or try and tune, it idles good a lil high but not bad. It smokes most of the time seems like more now than before

If you have a 2 stage filter the outer foam is dry but the inner foam is oiled. A single foam filter needs oiled.

I wouldn’t run and single element filter dry, it needs air filter oil to catch the small particles of dust.

More smoke usually means a richer tune, if the filter was dry before and you oiled it the amount of air that can travel through the filter is restricted and thus produces a richer tune compared to when the filter was dry.

I see it all the time at the track when it’s dry and dusty and a greenhorn changes his filter with a heavily oiled one mid day after 4 or 5 tanks of run time and then they are down on power and can’t clear the jumps like they were before the filter change. A simple tune with the screwdriver (lean the HSN slightly) usually corrects the issue.

The filter doesn’t need to be saturated in oil, just enough to make it sticky to catch the dust. I oil mine thoroughly and then use a paper town to squeeze out/ absorb the excess and try to keep them all relatively oiled the same.

Okay I have the two stage but I oiled both the outer and inner so that maybe the problem. I couldn't find any info on just to oil one r both so I did both. Thanks tonight I'll try and clean the outer n let dry and try pulling some oil out of the inner with a paper towel see if that helps.

So it's more than likely I've over oiled the filter n not the dogbone causing the issue? I'm gonna try and tune it tonight also most adjustments r made with the high side needle right I've never tuned this is my first rc. I'm having a hard time understanding the high side is ur power and the low side adjust ur idle tune r is it low end power?

Where did you get this paper town? Does it count as owning land thus allowing you to vote?

Lol...

Use a car door for the best mesh. :D

:hehe: I got the paper town from ebay! It came with a deed and a mortgage and I’m the mayor!. Can’t seem to get fire insurance on any of the buildings though…

Lol well I squeezed some oil out with the paper town n still the same tried giving it a tune n it picked up speed. But I think it's hung up in second gear I never hear it shift n it hauls but jus no acceleration rapid spin tires like it used to before the dogbone.

So I'm gonna try and tighten the shift point screw down maybe it's backed out loosly. Then idk what to do maybe try new tranny/ integy three shoe aluminum clutch?

Tightening down the trans shift point will only make it shift later. It won't shift till you have a good tune.
With the engine warmed up you need to start leaning the LSN slightly till you get a good take off from a dead stop. When that's good you adjust your HSN for top speed.
