if I've got a stock 2.5 T Maxx with a shot engine but I've got a brand new 3.3 engine do i need to modify anything.. is the trans different in a Maxx2.5 to a Maxx3.3..? can i just swap engines break it in and go.. thanks ppl
 
A 2.5 and 3.3 engine share the same external dimensions, so you should be able to drop it right in.
As concerns the transmission, I'm sure some upgrades and modifications / different parts have occurred over the years, but I wouldn't let that stop me from upgrading to a 3.3.
An older transmission should be able to handle the 3.3.
 
Yeah it'll drop in no problem I did this upgrade to my neighbors 2.5 and havent had any issues with the trans but the rear axles are a different story. I had to upgrade them to 3.3 axels. I would suggest getting the tuned resinator pipe for the 3.3 it makes a world of difference over the smaller compsite pipe. Plus its shiny chrome it'll be right up your alley! LOL

yea haha. i have recently bought a tmaxx 2.5 with alot of the 3.3 upgrades, how can I tell if my differential on my tmaxx are revo spec diffs.? i bought it off ebay it has 3.3 motor tranny, and shafts but i can't tell bout the diffs? help please thanks:\
