Take track pieces of rc track and build one or if you dont want to spend a lot use pvc pipe.

You can also use fire hose. You will still run over them but that's all driver error. If you go to your local Fire station and ask, they can tell you where you can acquire them. Usually there is a place where old equipment is maintained and the hose is there for you. One thing you have to remember, cut off the ends. The'll break your car when you hit them in a hot minute.

You can also use,septic tank fill line(sounds nasty I know). Its black perferated plastic pipe that flexs well so its easy to make round turns and takes some impact out of a crash.

we use steel plow disks painted floresent orange to mark just the corners of a track. they are dome shaped so you can drive over them, but at speed this results in flight. its cheap and effective, and you learn to avoid them. even though most of the time when hit, we just roll right over them and keep on racing.

After the last few times of trying to set up a track of sorts using the little orange cones I found that after about 15 min its more fun to TRY and hit the cones rather than try to avoid them. I think if someone came out with a weighted cone that might help but then again, could also damage the car if/when hit.

I've heard of a bunch of people using firehose. At the bash i went to in Queens with the QURC guys they just used small diameter PVC pipe and only used the cones to mark the edges of the turns. It seemed to work well. The pipe was flexible enough not to cause damage and still had enough weight not to move to much out of position when hit.
