I nearly spent 30 min trying to figure out where in the heck some clinking..clanking...rattling noise was coming from.

Almost completed with the 4 spider mod I went to test the front section of my Savage while i still had it disconnected and thought i could hear racket going on inside the gear cup. I thought oh crap..i didnt do something right...my spider gears must be flopping, spinning around inside. At that point, I instantly got PISSED!!!!

Nope, It turns out all that noise was coming from were the dogbones hitting the sides of the axle cups when pushing or pulling the section back and forth.

So moral of the story is....
When something doesn't sound right dont freak right away....it very well may be normal.

Yes, those are for the centre front and centre rear^^ (I wonder why HPI doesn't make universals for the wheels)
Anyways, here are the universals that go to the wheels:

Hot Bodies call them Mega Travel Drive Shafts... (they have dust boots too)
It's weird that Tower has it for $1 cheaper than Meganitro O_o;
Oh, and there's no extended centre rear universal for the long chassis (in case you want a truckzilla)

I guess the advantage is that you won't get loose connection between the dogbones and the axles (where that clink clank noise came from), so you won't end up with worn axles.

The disadvantage is that they cost more to replace in case you bend them in a crash. I think they are weaker than the heavy duty dogbones too (most universals are)

I use heavy duty outer dogbones from the Truckzilla kit, HPI's heavy duty centre front dogbone, heavy duty cups and diff shafts. But the axles are stock though, they don't make heavy duty axles. I don't know if the axles will hold up once I get the Truckzilla engine running properly...

Thanks for the info...id sure like to get rid of the noise in that location. I can hear it hit at low speeds. Yeah thats the downside of it..cost more to replace if one ever gets broken. i will give it some thought. Right now I'm in the spending phase so i will probably just go to tower within the week and click on "buy now!!!" Why not, its just money!!!haha

Ok so theres a dogbones made for the front and back. Lets take the front for instance. If i decide on these what else would i need to order to make the wheel attach to it...anything??

The link that u provided looks like the wheel would bolt up right to it?

Umm, that one doesn't go to the wheel. It goes between the centre gearbox and the front gearbox (that's why they call it centre front^^).
You just need one of those... (and you don't need anything else to make it fit)

Yes, the four Hot Bodies ones will bolt right to the wheels. They replace the stock dogbones and wheel axles (notice there are 2 silver ones for the left wheels and 2 black ones for the right wheels)

So you just need:
1 front centre universal ($17.49 for HPI one, or $13.39 for HB mega travel)
1 rear centre universal, unless you're getting a Truckzilla ($17.49 for HPI one, or $13.39 for HB mega travel)
1 set of 4 HB mega travel shafts ($58.99)

LOL, true, it's only money, but Tower's overseas shipping charge is devastating >.< Their $20 off for orders above $150 only helps a little...

Oh, and you might want to get the heavy duty stuff while you're at it:
2 packets of http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGJU3&P=M
1 packet of http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFYK9&P=M

and of course, parts for the 3 mods if you haven't done so...

MMMmmmm awhhhhh...ok..i follow ya now. Not sure where my head was then. I got the parts written down and hope to order soon.

You broke everything down and sure made it easy to see exactly what i need for those upgrades. I appreciate it!!!!

That's ok. I just wanted to make sure you don't buy 2 centre front and 2 centre rear universals :D (unless you have 2 Savages)
