Just purchased a Savage from the FS forum, but it needs a pull start for the not-broken-in Mach 26 engine.

I was wondering if there was a roto-start available for it, so I could at least use it during break-in (I'm guessing the pull start broke during break in, from too much compression). If not, any idea where the best place is to get the pull start? I dont remember seeing it online.

(I'm under the impression that the Mach 26 engine is like other 26's, but I'm not exactly sure which one. If anyone could tell me, that would be cool. Perhaps parts from other 26's would fit).

Thanks!!!

AFAIK, the Dynamite Mach .26 is manufactured by SH engines, so a pull start or rotostart for other SH engines should fit.

You can get a rotostart for the SH engine because one of my SH .21s has one fitted. The backplate only has three screw holes for the starter, but it's plastic and you could easily drill a fourth.

The pull start off a Swift or XTM (24.7) buggy should therefore fit the Mach .26.

Thanks for the info.

It seems that almost all of the 26s I saw (Picco, Mach, etc) are the same engine. Is this true? In that case, I guess the pull start itself is very readily available.

I may just go with the PS and heat up the engine for the first couple starts. I think in the long run Ill be happier with the PS than the Roto.

Thanks again!!!

The XTM 24/7 backplate and bearing (Hobby People $22) fit and work fine on the Mach 26.
