I haven't used my mac book much in about 3 or 4 weeks, but when I did go to use it the thing had a completely dead battery(wouldn't even turn on or stay on unless plugged up)

No big deal I thought I may have just drained the battery last time I used it. Wrong.

I use it again and every time the power cord comes unplugged it turns off.
I have left it plugged up and off almost all day, and it still doesn't even have enough charge to turn on the battery indicator on the bottom of the battery when the button is pressed.

The computer even says that it is plugged up and it says (Not Charging). It happened all of the sudden is what I don't understand.

I just thought maybe some of you battery or computer gurus could help me out as to what I should do.

It will be very much appreciated 129$ for a battery isn't cheap

It is a li-on battery I think

It sounds as ir the battery went bad, I knew of at least 2 people that had the same thing, replaced the battery and all was well. The battery in mine only works for about 10 minutes before I get the critical warning.

Thats what confuses me though, my battery worked just fine up until now.

As far as I know it just happened all of the sudden.

I'm sure it's possible, but I've never seen a battery just die what seems like instantly after working great for so long.

Thanks for your post!

I have an HP laptop and the battery wasn't holding a charge either. Luckily HP has a battery test thingy on there website that you can DL and it checks your battery. Come to find out it wasn't the battery. We thought maybe the charger went bad, bought a charger not the problem. Had to send it back to HP only to find out the motherboard went bad. Thank Gawd for warranty.

Not sure if Mac has anything like the battery checker but maybe worth looking into.:)

If you have a local Apple store, they will check it out for you.
