What’s goin guys! Looks like Luke’s got a new truck in his hands! This is my (build in progress) Slash MM!
IMG_1169.webp

We’ve got one of the best lookin slash bodies you can buy on there.
IMG_1170.webp

Traxxas paint jobs always look so dang rad.
IMG_1171.webp

Tires still got plenty of life on them!
It appears the body may have less life then I wish it did…
IMG_1172.webp

Chassis pic! As you can see we’ve got a lot missing.
IMG_1173.webp

As for steering I’ve got a 20KG china servo in there. It sucks.
IMG_1174.webp

Got some aluminum upgrades! (Shock towers and caster blocks)
IMG_1175.webp

Front end lookin good!
IMG_1176.webp

Caster block thing.

It appears the entire power set up is missing……

Okay, PLANS! Number one, for power I’m gonna use a Firma 100 ESC that I currently have in the STASH once I change that ESC out for a Hobbywing 8BL150. Motor will be around 4000KV and I hope to find something from GoolRC. After I get the truck up and running I’ve got a Jenny’s order to make. Gotta get some Nitro Slash parts to MM This bad boi. I’m planning on tuning this car best for 2S so I can run it on indoor RC tracks. It’ll be 3S capable but it’ll run warm for sure. All the shocks on this car are still in really nice condition so I won’t change them anytime soon (I hope) sadly when I MM this car I’ll lose the front aluminum shock tower cuz it don’t fit. I’m planning on making this rig as light as possible. I’m gonna make a rear bumper mount for @DavidB1126 and I may use it too. I’ve gotta find some better way to hold in the battery as the system in my rusty can only hold a 3S hard case.

That’s all the notes I have for now. See ya at the next update!

MMing has been completed. understeer is gone, replaced by much less grip on the rear. I've got stock Kumho Traxxas tires on. Maybe that's the problem? Also sorta wet but not bad. Hopefully I can get pics soon. Gotta find a way to get more grip. Maybe move more weight back?

Coming back to this as I sent this thread link on a FB post as someone asked for a kit or parts to MM his slash.

Uh good tires that aren't big. Any regular 2.2/3.0 SCT tire, or 2.2 stadium truck, or 2.8 low profile stadium truck. 2.8 MTs are way oversized.

Well those are just sizes. Like you already know, I run anacondas from the rustler on mine with minimal cutting around the wheel wells, although I do have a proline body mount kit that is highly adjustable. Planning on getting proline badlands and Traxxas blue 5 spoke wheels, which ill use that for offroad in the field and baseball diamond, and at the dirt tracks.

I put Talon EXTs for the rustler, I test fitted them on the slash and they work nice, I just had to raise my body posts, and remove the side nerf bars. The regular Talons from the Stampede can work, or the Bigfoot tires also.

All parts before MMing:

Wow, that was easy. But more pics:

Alright. That’s all the pics I got now. I did this conversion a LONG time ago. Like 2-3 months. Just haven’t had a time to post it yet. I’ll update with more words later, but that’s all the pics ya get.

Alright. Here’s some words for yall. I been bashin this rig a lot on 3S. Back when I was home I ripped it around on the backyard track and just all over. The rig runs pretty good, but not as overall fun as the HCG. Took it to the track and was racing a kid who had a Losi 2wd. (Maybe a 22? IDK) I kept up but he was like 10 so that was probably what it was lol. I’m planning on getting a better ESC with more tuning and no motor wires attached. Most likely a 10BL120 G2 or a MAX10. Then I’d mount it over the motor on the back. Hopefully that’d give me more grip on the rear, the truck really slips around so hopefully that’ll help. Actually decent tires would help most tho. I also need some 2S batteries for real track racing and stuff.

There’s probably more I need to say but I can’t think of anything, so that’s all for now.

What kind of track is it? I can help you with tires. With batteries, most race spec batteries are bullets. If you want EC5, and since tracks are limited to 2s, id see what CHNL has with 2s and EC5. SMC has batteries with a EC5 option if I remember correctly.

I seem to remember Greywolf mentioning the mid motor conversion made his Rustler really squirrely as well 😉

Honestly, whatever track I run into. Last track was outdoor slidey dirt. This truck would probably do best on a indoor dirt/cray track.

Seems to be easier to control but harder to drift and doesn't hold as well.
