new fella at the track showed up w/a new LST. very nice. but it came w/a 27mhz radio. he thought it was supposed 2 come w/a 75mhz, b/c he mentioned 30 choices. he wasn't too bummed b/c he had choices. but i thought their advert was that it did have 30choices (75mhz)

what gives?

My Losi has 27mhz radio too!

Hi, I have just purchased a Losi and it has 27mhz FM Radio gear to. I live in the UK and 27 is the norm here the wierd this is that we are on AM hare and the Losi is on FM, whats even wierder is that I have put 27 AM crystals in it and it still works.

Hmmmm, I guess you can choose what type of radio equipment because my LHS is selling them and the JR XS3 is included with it.

I'm sure its the XR3i set supplied with mine as it can only store 4 models in the memory where as the XS3 I think can store 6 models.

Don't forget that the XS3 is synthesized as well.

Synthesized....Hmmmm well defo not got that on my hand set, Now for the thicky bit, I dont even now what that is only that there is no mention of it in manual. Sounds like you boys in the states get a better handset with your Losi LST than we do here. Story of my life.

It is easy to tell. Does the reciver have little numberd dial or a crystal. Xs3r=dials, xs3i=crystal. The jr comes with 27mhz 75mhz synth. You probaly have a choice when you order.

hmm, the guy felt gipped initially since 27 has 6 choices over 75 w/30. hmmmm

Sounds to me like he got a "UK" one. Here we run with 27mhz AM or 40mhz FM, the cheaper sets 27 or 40mhz AM. There are a lot more than 6 choices on 27mhz at least 24, generally they are referred to as colours EG "Brown" Crystals are 26.995am and "Red" are 27.045.....and in-between you have "Brown/Red" at 27.025mhz....etc etc

Here in the Uk we can't use 75mhz as it is the same as the polise band and the airport landind beacons, we are stuck with 27am or 40am/fm. The losi is the first truck to enter the uk fitted with 27fm and according to the losi importers they had'nt relaised that we use am in the Uk so at the moment there are no spare crystal or recievers for them. We get a choice of 13 different crystals on 27mhz over here so its not that bad.

Well, the JRXS3 and Pro version are made with 40mhz frequencies. Check Ebay, they go for relatively good prices.

I know what happened. The same thing happened to me. When I bought my truck from the local hobby store it came with the 27mhz radio with 6 channels. That is not what I wanted. I called Hobby Horizon and they sent me the 75mhz radio with 30 channels like they advertised. I installed new radio and sent back other one. I found out that JR ran out of 75mhz radios for the LST and LOSI is having to ship the truck with the 27mhz radio until JR catches up with production. So you didn't end up with the european version just a supply/demand problem.
