just got a question i am changing the % of nitro so i am puting the tuning back to factory setings i have done the HSN but how do you know when the LSN is fully closed?

First, set your idle stop screw so there's a 1mm carb opening. Then, while holding the carb fully closed, turn the LSN clockwise until it just hits the needle seat. You'll feel the resistance. Don't overtighten it or you'll ruin it. Just make sure that you're holding the carb closed because if you're not, the carb will open as you tighten the LSN. Once you feel the LSN hit the end, then you can back it out the proper number of turns.

But on the new sav 25 engine they have simplified the process and made factory settings easier.
All three (hsn, lsn and idle) should be flush therefore eliminating the guesswork

Don't settings need to be a certain amount of turns from close?

Thats what they used to be, but in the new 25 engine hpi have eliminated that by making stock settings flush. Nice 'n' easy.

If you look in the manual that came with the sav (the engine manual) The new spec sav's have an update about these flush needle settings

hpi instructions are fine ....you either had a bad mill or you didnt follow the directions
