Hello All
i have a small question .
Took my Savage out tonight for a little bashing and it didn't run well so i turned the needles back to factory setting.
Drove for a while and didn't really feel like it was driving well so HSN in about 1/8 of a turn , was a little better but still not good.
Then i took the temp 170 degrees centigrade about 330 F ??????????????
Big shock, quickly shut down and went home.
Does any one here have a clue what the problem might be????
Gearing is 18/49 and i didn't have a body on it.
Fuel is Tornado 20% , didn't have probs earlier .
Engine is LRP Z.28R spec3

maybe you knocked the engine earlier and it pressed the gears together a bit more, making the gears a little tight? or is there something putting pressure on the engine

something is boggin the engine down. Could be a number of things. Could be as small as the gearing being too tight, or a plugged tuned pipe.

Can a tight mesh cause the engine to overheat???

If so that is the solution, i had tightened the CB against the spur as far as possible .

Yes it prob is your problem. You need to run a sheet of paper through your gears so it will have the proper mesh.

Yup, there has to be a tic of play in your gear mesh. If they're too tight, they'll induce drag in that system and can cause binding.

I had changed my savage 25 slipper to a savage X setup and i didn't mesh it correctly because i thought it wasn't tight enough.

Tnx guys i think i found my solution. There where guys saying i may have an airleak but i think this was it.

Saves me a lot of time and money

Really is but i will check other possibilities aswell , like airleaks and remove my fuelfilter i put in the line. Looks like it makes small airbubbles .

Thanks A lot guys
