Well i finally got around to lowering the body. I took a dremel to the front post and ground them down only to realize that i was grinding the post too thin! I'm sure they would have snapped after one crash. So i cut off the plastic posts and inserted some metal shock cap screws. Drilled a hole through the middle of each and they work great. I really like the look of the body being lower to the chassis and I'm sure that it will improve handling slightly?

Now its really time for a Proline body!!!!

I don't know how much the handling will be affected because the body weighs nothing. Maybe it will be because of air flow or something. Not really sure

Hey, that looks pretty good. That makes me want to do it with my pede because my chevy body looks a tad funny to me for some reason. I probably wont because when I flip the top of the engine can already hit the ground, that would make it even worse.

As far as handling the only thing I think lowering the body would do is prevent air from getting under the chassis. Could help at high speeds. Possibly more downforce too? Who knows it might make it handle better. Snook would know.

With my pede, when I'm racing up and down the street I notice the body shaking pretty good, I'm willing to bet that it is shaving a few MPHs off my top speed. But I got a nitro, so I'm more concerned about cooling.

I've read that lowering the body increases handling but have never really understood how (or if) it works either. I'll have to try it out and see for myself.

Thought i should show the before and after. The body is dropped just under a 1/2 inch.

Lowering the body helps handling because you are bringing the over all center of gravity down, it makes it less top heavy and give the truck less body roll when turning. That is why race cars are low to the ground, every little bit helps.
