Warning ....Long boring story that almost killed a Revo:opps:

Well today was a sad day for Revo Kind.

The day started out really well until my friend and I desided to take the trucks out for a spin. It was a blast having someone else bashing around with until we desided to drag race them. We counted to three and took off. The Revo appeared to bog down off the start but started gaining speed. The Tmaxx just dug in off the bat and took off. My poor Revo lost but it sure cought up quick. Then I started noticing her making huge turns...I thought at first the radio got bumped and messed with the steering. I checked this and everything was a go. It then started to take the Revo forever to get up to speed. I would hammer her down and you could beat her in a foot race before she got WOT. Then she got to the point no matter what I did, she wasn't moving but the motor was running strong.

So I pulled up my Friends Tmaxx to compare the two and see if I could figure out what wasn't working. I got to fooling around with it and pulled the linkage on the carberator....the truck came to life larger than ever. This was puzzleing to me. Well It was getting late and I had to pick up some carry out, so I through the Revo in my truck and started cleaning up the shop/Tmaxx. Well before I took off for home ( the old house) I turned the electronics on the Revo on to see if I could get it to work the carb or servos. Well this time around nothing worked at all...:ponder2:

Damn this is a long boring story lol Anyways, I took the Revo back into the shop and pluged her in. This time when I cut her on while pluged to the charger, every servo came to life loud and clear:OMG: So I had been bashing around in the truck with a pretty dead battery pack. I almost smashed it into a telephone pole when it wouldn't turn right. The brake was the last thing that responded to the radio before it wnet totaly dead...it just barely bumped the pole.

I'm not sure if it's got a fail safe on it but as you can guess I need one bad. I just don't know why the batteries didn't charge to begin with. I'm going to make a run over to the shop/new home in a few and see if their charged this time. I usualy leave them on the charger over night and it shuts off after it's done.

I'm out of town this weekend, so I'll have to wait on my rematch with the Tmaxx :( On the other hand the Tmaxx was running awsome!!

Rookie mistake.

The stock recharger for the Revo has had stories of it suddenly not working right. Mine did after about 15 charges. Just get a MRC 959 charger and be done with it.

Oh really?

I had no idea and need to do something about this soon. My charger said it was charged the last few days with only a few miniutes on the charger. So I figured the batteries was long lasting or something. Anyways, I need to get me a new charger if this is what I got to look forward to. I also need to look into a fail safe....are these hard to install or set?

Thanks
Ray

Ray, that is the classic symptom of the Revo charger going out.

I use the OFNA mini FS. Plaid may have a suggestion regarding the Radio. Some of the better radios also have a FS built in.

Well I just got back from the new house and I checked out the Revo. It's working just fine now. I'm glad because I was about to tear her a part to see if something was broken ;)

Anyways, I wouldn't mind an FM radio with a built in FS that wouldn't cost me my first born son :nope: It would be nice if I could install it my self without the help of a rocket scientist looking over my shoulder.

Thanks
Ray
