Lost RWD!

My truck lost rear wheel drive today for some reason, it only has front wheel drive, when I spin a front tire the dogbone and spur gear spin, when I spin a rear tire the dogbone spins but not the spurgear and when I spin the spur gear only the front wheels move. Anybody know what it is before I dig into it?

Through my psychic abilities, I've determined that you have a screw loose somewhere.... Most likely in the drive train.

Sounds like you've slipped a pin on the rear universal as it exits the transmission. Check to see if the uni cup is slipping over the output shaft. That'll cause the tranny to spin without driving the wheels.

I will take it apart tonight and look, one of the bad things about this truck is you have to take both engines off to do ANYTHING!

i think its dirt in the differentials..happened to me once..i opened up the front diff and it poured sand out i was like wth! it was cause two screws were missing to hold the diff to the body

Yea, it must be in the diff..... because when I spin the back tires the dogbone spins.
